About

Hi and thanks for your interest in my work.

Based in London I am a natural documentary & editorial wedding photographer. My wedding photography is a mix of natural reportage and informal, relaxed portraiture.

Having shot over five hundred weddings over the past fifteen years I have gained a wealth of experience in shooting all types and style of weddings. Whichever the ceremony, a large part of my style is natural photography.
I spend much of the day looking for and capturing moments, emotions and stories unobtrusively. I feel they’re the greatest photos – the stories that you look back on in years to come. The ones that make you laugh and cry.

OUR APPROACH

Ever since I started my wedding photography studio 15 years ago my work has always been about two things:

1. Telling the beautiful, natural story of a wedding day with all its emotions, details and moments.
2. Creating something different, something unique that goes beyond classic, conventional wedding photography.

Most people now can pick up a camera and create a great photograph.
I want our photography to be something you could put on your wall and it go beyond the classic wedding photography. Shooting naturally is really important.
From the moment a couple book my studio for their wedding photography we want it to feel like friends are shooting their big day.

We have two meetings with you as part of our service so as to get to know each other really well and to understand exactly what it is you're looking fore in your photography. The first meeting is a Zoom meeting 3 months prior to the day. The second is an in-person 90 minute meeting where we go through all the aspects of the day and timings.

The key to getting natural, informal wedding photography is through a relaxed, informal approach and so we tailor every aspect of our service around this in order to give our clients the beautifully natural wedding photography they envisaged.

THE ETHOS

Quite often couples choose me for my natural, documentary approach. Preps, ceremony, reception, breakfast, speeches, first dance and evening all happen without our input – my style is to interact with guests informally, create rapports so as to get informal moments throughout the day.
I want to capture beautiful, informal moments showing people’s personality and the atmosphere of the day.
Where we do have involvement with shots is the couple’s and groups photographs.
It is these where our style and experience that have been developed over the past fifteen years come in.

MORE TIME WITH FRIENDS & FAMILY

Your wedding photography is priceless and I understand the importance of getting it right.
That said I don’t need to to take you away for hours to capture beautiful photographs of you both. To do that I plan with you in your pre wedding meeting how to get the best of your time throughout the day with the priority being for you both to spend as much time with friends and family as possible.
We’ll always be able to have 25 minutes throughout the day to get the photography you want.

A BIT ABOUT ME

I grew up in London and Hertfordshire and always had a huge passion for art.
I studied fine art at school and then college before discovering photography.
I loved the immediacy of photography and the process of developing film and prints.
It’s a bit geeky but it appealed to me and still love printing now. Although things have moved on considerably with regards to digital photography I still love film and still happily shoot film for wedding customers now.
Having a hand print by one of London’s specialist darkroom printers is a special thing I think.
I studied both HND & BA in photography and during this time specialised in people & portraiture. Focusing on fashion and portraiture I developed a style that mixed informal, ethereal editorial portraiture with natural documentary.
Having worked throughout uni with a renownded wedding photographer to gain the invaluable experience of shooting weddings I set up my own studio in 2004. Documentary wedding photography was still quite new at this point and the studio grew rapidly with our moving into the Hoxton studio in Hackney in 2008.
