We’re Phil & Leah Joseph, husband & wife, best friends & together we run Sussex & Kent Photography.
We love connecting with laid back couples, who enjoy having fun and appreciate the little things in life. We're all about relaxed atmospheres and good vibes. If you're looking for unposed, candid and natural photography then we’re probably a good match, from us you can expect a trusted, genuinly personal, bespoke service.
Phil is an experienced and award winning photographer, from a family of photographers. His images are thoughtful and full of charm, really capturing the atmosphere of your day.
We promise that you'll always be in a relaxed, space with us, nothing cheesy here! We document your day as it authentically happens, capturing you being yourselves and having fun!
Our packages always include a visit to your venue ahead of time, and unlimited planning and advice with us throughout your journey. We offer three simple packages; however we also enjoy working with you to create a bespoke package to suit your needs, if you have something a little different in mind!
We look after you from start to finish, also offering our in-house album creating and printing service too.

What does the wedding package include?
All packages include a pre venue visit, unlimited catch ups & planning with us throughout your journey and a bespoke wooden usb to cherish your images
How far in advance should I contact you?
As soon as possible! The more time we have to chat, the more we can tailor your photography. If in doubt, just drop us a message
Do you cover more than one wedding a day?
No
Can you travel?
Yes, our main service area is Sussex & Kent; however we are able to travel further. We're always happy to have a chat about your location over a cuppa!
What is the charge for travelling?
We don't charge for travel unless your wedding is a huge way outside of Sussex & Kent, if this is the case then we're more than happy to have a chat and come up with a plan!
What style of photos do you take?
Photo journalism
Other (Our photography style is natural and full of charm. We document your day as it happens, but will of course cover your all important family photos and wedding portraits too)

Do you use a specific technique or innovative approach?
Our approach is laid back and fun. We like to get to know you before your wedding, we'll never be a 'stranger' showing up on your day, but a friendly face instead

We use Sony mirrorless technology, with a variety of lenses and other equipment
Do you offer any tool to display the photos online?
Yes, yes, we provide you with your own online gallery once your photos are ready! You'll be able to share this with friends and family too
What's the delivery time for a photographic report?
1 month

How do you charge extra time?
We don't time cap our full wedding package, we'll wrap things up once we have everything captured. Micro weddings are bookable by the hour, we also offer half day cover too
What are the forms of payment?
We accept bank transfer. We'll ask for a deposit to secure your date, the remaining balance will be due a month before your wedding
How do you work?
We work in an easy going style, and like to have fun. We'll have your timeline and preferences all sorted, so that on your day you can just enjoy yourselves, we'll have everything in hand!

Absolutely Amazing!
Throughout the whole process of booking Phil as our wedding photographer he has been so helpful and so kind. He always offered to help us with any aspects of the planning and was always happy to offer words of advice. Within our package he also offered an engagement shot with our two dogs who couldn't be with us on the actual day. The photos were brilliant and so treasured y us because we felt they were involved - it was also good practice for the actual day!
On the day Phil was really helpful to all the bridesmaids and bride - he just got on with taking photos and was super helpful with setting everything up for the best pictures. Every single member of the wedding party commented on how much they loved having him there and how he made the day so much better. In the evening he took us aside for photos and to have a breather from everything which we are so so grateful for.
Honestly, Phil was amazing and a 10/10 booking for us. He got the photos back so quickly and they are so lovely - cannot fault him at all.

The PERFECT photographer!
Phil and his team were wonderful from the very first contact and after the wedding too! They were extremely friendly, professional and accommodating of what we needed. We are obsessed with our wedding photos, they are exactly what we wanted and Phil has captured the essence of our day perfectly. I couldn’t recommend him any more highly! Thank you so much!

Review of a photographer by a photographer!
I spent weeks looking at prospective wedding photographers before choosing Sussex & Kent Photography; as I am a photographer myself (although I do not do weddings). Finding someone that you trust to photograph your wedding is a scary thing, especially when you take photos for a living yourself! After meeting with Phil I knew he would be perfect for mine and my wife's big day. He was everything I could want in my wedding photographer, he was knowledgeable, engaging, calm, friendly and had all of the right kit.
I take my hat off to Phil as it's not often another photographer seriously impresses me with their work to the point where I take a lot of inspiration from him.
Phil, thank you for everything my friend. A true gent and highly skilled photographer. You have made my wife and I very happy.

Our wedding photography
We found Phil at Sussex & Kent Photography through Hitched. We're SO glad we did. We couldn't have picked a better photographer to document our wedding day.
The photographs themselves are just beautiful, his service was fantastic and the entire process was uncomplicated. Phil has a natural talent and is very knowledgeable.
I would trust him all over again and couldn't be happier with our choice of photographer or the pictures that he produced.

Top Quality Photography
Exceptional quality and work from Sussex & Kent Photography. You get so much included in the packages. Phil went to visit our venue and we went along with him. We spoke about some ideas we had for some particular pictures that we wanted taken. He worked alongside our videographer who actually recommended Phil to us. They worked really well together and communication was great. He captured every moment we wanted, from getting ready until the evening party and everything in between. We cannot thank him enough !

Friendly. Approachable. Trusted.
I've used Sussex & Kent Photography twice now. Once for a family lifestyle session on the beach and once for my wedding last year. My wife and I had never had a photoshoot before, so we did a lot of research before booking. My work friend recommended Phil from Sussex & Kent Photography and he was very approachable and answered lots of apprehensions we had about having our first photoshoot.
We went back and forth with messaging Phil as we decided a couple of times to change our location and he was really professional and calm about changing everything for us. We were so happy with our first experience with Phil so much that we decided to book him ahead of time for our wedding, pretty much right after we set our date. Again, the customer service was top notch and everything was smooth and easy. On the day he was really good with all of our guests, especially with the chaos our little one was causing! Everyone commented on how lovely he was.
We got a sneak peek at our pictures ahead of time and we fell in love right away. My wife and I would urge you to book in with Phil, especially with how reasonably priced he is! Thank you Phil for your amazing service yet again.

Awesome Photography!
Sussex & Kent Photography...Amazing! Well priced, well organised and they just know what they're doing. All of our group shots were organised without a worry, our couples session on the day was magical and they really did capture those finer details like they promise, some things I don't even remember doing like some floral decor and the little favours on the tables and I feel so lucky that these were all photographed because the little things do often get overlooked! I wouldn't hesitate to book with them again and will be buying a gift voucher soon for my friends anniversary! Thank you for everything. Mrs Harres xXx

Highly recommend
Sussex & Kent Photography were recommended to us by our venue as one of their trusted suppliers. I was pleasantly surprised by the very reasonable pricing. The level of service was just amazing, we felt like V.I.Ps Our pictures from the day are so perfect. We look at them almost every day before we go to bed.
They were so lovely to work with, so trustworthy and I couldn't praise the service enough. I'll certainly be using them again for any future occasions without a doubt.

Over the moon
We booked Sussex & Kent Photography after our videographer reccomended them as we were struggling to find anyone we liked. We worked with Phil who was our photographer. Phil was really great to work with, he was very relaxed and nothing ever felt rushed or awkward. My wife and I hate having our photos taken but Phil made us feel comfertable from our first meeting and we felt really relaxed when we had our engagement session with him. My wife and I have since suggested Sussex & Kent photography to our family and friends, one of which who has now also used him and she is as happy as us. I would trust Sussex & Kent Photography over and over again, the photos we have are just stunning and everyone who comes into our home comments on the quality of them. We're over the moon.

Simply, Perfect.
Wow. Sussex & Kent Photography what can I say. Just 100% quality and perfection. From start to finish everything was a breeze. The simplest part of the whole wedding planning! You absolutely delivered everything we were hoping for and more. Our pictures are stunning and we couldn't be happier. Thank you for everything, from helping us decide which package to go for, to the style of editing and for just getting everything we wanted on the day. We honestly couldn't recommend highly enough.

our search for a wedding photographer stopped when we came across Sussex and Kent photography. They were one of the only hassle free photographers we could find who actually delivered on the quality and the effort. The whole experience was stress free and easy. Stunning Pictures. Professional and lovely gent. Fast turnaround. Would recommend and use over and over again. SIMPLE.
