11 Sep, 2021Our Real Wedding
Me and my partner got engaged in lockdown 2 (November 2020) and always said we would get married privately. However, because everyone had been locked down for a year we thought it was essential to have a huge wedding reception for when friends and family could finally celebrate together again. We thought there would be no way we would find a venue available for 2021 but to our surprise we came across the newly launched Yard Space website with a CGI video of an upcoming wedding barn. By the second week of December we had visited the then derelict barn and booked for September 2021. The team had such vision, mixing tradition with innovative modern design, in a beautiful setting, and a relaxed street food concept, which sounded perfect for us. At this point we couldn’t have even imagined how beautiful it would be so we are so glad we put our faith in the team.
The team are amazing and completely committed to their couples. In the run up we obviously needed a lot of reassurance about the build and visited a few times to see progress but they were always so welcoming and catered to any needs we wanted for the day. Other suppliers were also amazing considering the circumstances (we were in lockdown 3 during the majority of my organising!) but my favourite part was finding my dream dress which turned out to be Made With Love Bridal for Coco & Kate in Hatton.

All our guests could not stop saying how magical the venue was and also there were so many compliments for the staff. We completely agree as every staff member would do anything for us and they were all so friendly, including the staff behind the scenes, particularly the chefs as the food was incredible. The canapés were unique (karaage chicken, brisket nuggets and white bean & salsa Verde bruschetta) and for the sit down meal we had a pizza and barbeque spatchcock chicken feast with salads, croquettes and roasted sweet potatoes. We had mini cake tubs for desserts fitting with our more relaxed vibe. In the evening the courtyard had fire pits to keep people warm outside and the dj area was huge with an amazing neon sign for photo opportunities. The bar certainly got a lot of action and the guests loved the wide selection of drinks including very yummy cocktails!
Considering we booked in such uncertain times with COVID and the barn not being built our absolute dream day was pulled off. I loved seeing people enjoying themselves again and the memories are going to last forever. This wedding venue is perfect and deserves all the success!
