Our Real Wedding
We did an intimate registry office wedding so that a few days later, we could have our dream wedding in my parents' garden...
The garden/ marquee wedding. 1st July 2023
We got ready at my parents' house, and I got to check in on the marquee in the morning to make sure everything was perfect.
The day before, we had a huge team of helpers to get the marquee wedding ready, and to be honest, it was such a lovely day, it made the wedding feel like it lasted a little longer.
My big brother officiated the relaxed ceremony where we had a Champagne toast with our witnesses and wrote our own vows.
It was a full black and white affair, with the only pop of color coming from my pink shoes!
The boys wore tuxedos with pocket boutonniere my mum made and the bridesmaids wore white sequin dresses with white shoes.
All of the flowers were white. We made full use of textures when choosing the flowers. We used black chiffon ribbons around the bridesmaids' flowers to stand out against their white outfits and used single-stem flowers on the tables.
Continue reading »Everything was handmade by family; my dad built the bar, my brother-in-law hand-painted animal print taper candles, we attached tassel curtains to hula hoops to hang from the ceiling, and we stuck many mirror tiles to make disco balls. We had our wedding logo, which was subtlety placed throughout the details of the day, from napkins and drink stirrers to our ring box and guest book. We had black charger plates with printed Napkins for the place settings.
As huge football fans, we collected black and white football shirts from our two teams and England to make our seating plan. I printed the names on the back as you would on match day and hung them on a rail adorned with disco balls, footballs, and white flowers. It went down so well and felt like the perfect nod to our great passion without compromising style.
Our band was the highlight of our wedding. Getting everyone up on their feet just before dinner and setting the tone for the day. The energy they brought to the day is something we will never replicate.
We had a champagne tower instead of a cake and it kicked off the party perfectly!
We had the very best day, and all of the hard work was so worth it, the tiny details just brought everything together, and the atmosphere was like nothing we've felt before. The music, the food, the love, it was just the perfect start to our forever x
