Our Real Wedding

We got engaged on Mersea Island in May 2023 - straight away I was excited to plan our wedding and decided to see if we could get married in May the following year!

We thought it might be a nice idea to also marry on Mersea Island and came across East Mersea Hall - it just looked amazing and exactly the type of venue I had in mind - made even better as they allow dogs and we really wanted ours to be part of our day!

We visited a few weeks after our engagement and didn’t look anywhere else - we simply booked and that was that, we know this isn’t everyone’s way but we just knew this venue was everything we wanted so why look anywhere else!

We are so glad we made this decision as Anneka and all the team at East Mersea Hall were just wonderful from the get go - nothing was too much hassle, they just made sure our day was everything we wanted it to be throughout the planning stage and on the day itself! Everyone was also helpful and made our day run smoothly.

We booked Dan Brock for live music after our ceremony and then as our dj for the evening - he was brilliant and made our day full of wonderful music along with Sister Sax who started the evening off with an hour of classics, it was just perfect. The weather on our day was just amazing, the sun was shining all day which we had really hoped for as we’d opted for an outdoor ceremony along with a bbq for our wedding breakfast and a crepe van for our dessert!
