31 Aug, 2024Our Real Wedding
Our day was everything we’d dreamed of and more! Bridal and groom prep took place at the Fairmont St Andrews. The morning was full of fun and laughter.
Our makeup artist, Lauren, and hairdresser, Steven, did such an amazing job. I didn’t want to feel like a stranger walking down the aisle, so went for a natural glam look, and so loved my makeup and hair on the day.
We then took a short journey in our wedding cars to the venue, Kinkell Byre, where we were greeted by our piper in true Scottish fashion.
Our ceremony felt very intimate, despite having 150 guests. The mood lighting and rustic decor at Kinkell made it truly magical, with live musicians playing from our London based show band, Creation. The venue was dressed head to toe in wild florals, with a beautiful aisle made of real petals.
Our humanist celebrant, Fiona, was amazing. She shared our story, and the things we love most about each other, while keeping the ceremony light hearted and inclusive of all guests. We also lit a unity candle to signify our two lives becoming one. The ceremony ended with the Jewish “smashing of the glass” tradition, which symbolises the fragility of our relationship and reminds us that we must treat it with special care.

Before our meal, the reception celebrations kicked off with traditional Israeli dancing - we were thrown up on chairs and enjoyed a variety of classic Israeli songs, dancing away with all our favourite people. A moment I’ll never forget!
The format of the night was a sit down meal with dancing in between courses - the dance floor was packed all night and the room was full of smiles and laughter. We enjoyed a beautiful meal by Platter and Pop, who also provided all our decor and florals. The showstopper was the family pavlova for dessert, brought out with sparklers, which everyone still raves about.
Our speeches took place throughout the night, with emotional and comical words from my dad, the best man, father of the groom, and of course, my husband. It was a touching moment, mixed with love, laughter and tears of joy.
Finally, the party ended just how it began. A full dance floor, fantastic music and everyone having a great time. In true Scots fashion, we ended the night singing and dancing to ‘Loch Lomond’, marking the end of our amazing weekend in one of Scotland’s most beautiful locations. We can’t thank all our suppliers enough for making it the most perfect day of our lives.
