Our Real Wedding

We spent the night before the wedding enjoying the gorgeous grounds and house of Plas Dinam, eating fish and chips with friends and playing cricket on the lawn. On the big day we the groom went for a wild swim and the bridal party met in the bridal suite for some fizz. Local florist Jane Shallow did our beautiful pink, red and orange flowers.We manifested sun and got married under the shade of the beautiful woodland area. We had 120 guests under the trees, but the ceremony still managed to feel intimate. We sang Calon Lan, and Elvis, and had a Dalai Lama reading and the second part of the ceremony was delivered by the brides brother. A drinks reception took place on the back lawn, with a stretch tent offering some much needed shade. Our saxophonist Alex played some jazz as our guests enjoyed drinks and canapés. We headed down to the stables for speeches, fizz from Glyndwr Vineyard, and sharing dishes made by the fabulous team at Wild Garlic. There were a few surprises thrown in and guests were given tambourines to shake when we entered the room, the bride gave a speech, and Katy Perry’s Firework played when the desserts came out!We opted against having the traditional wedding cakes and had 3 party cakes made by the wonderful Let them See Cake.Polar Berries led the charge in the evening and got people on the dance floor with their folky take on classics such as Proud Mary. Carriages at 00:30 took our guests that weren’t staying in the house back to their accommodation and we met the following day for bacon sarnies before heading home.  The bride’s dress was from Willow in White, Cowbridge and the groom’s suite was from Next.Hair and make up were done by the talented Rebecca Foreshaw and Lexie.
