26 Nov, 2022Our Real Wedding
We had a cosy wintery wedding that featured a lot of mulled cider and candles. We wanted to create a homely and comfort vibe as all our family and friends were travelling a long way to celebrate with us, so it was important that the venue we chose could sleep all of our guests. We DIYed a lot of things to make it personal to us, including tables named after our favourite places, and monogramed napkins. We also saved money by creating our own photobooth instead of hiring one, and bulk buying the flowers and constructing the bouquets and buttonholes ourselves too. It rained all day, and our photographer was amazing and made sure we still got the all important couples portraits and family shots. We didn't even feel cold despite being 8 degrees and raining constantly. We made sure to take some time to take in moments throughout the day, whether that was watching all our guests dancing to the last song of the night, or sitting down together immediately after the ceremony before going into our drinks reception This kept us really calm and grounded throughout the day and ensured we were able to make the most of it and remember key moments. We also had a live painter who painted a composite picture of our first kiss in front of the venue and we had a big reveal at the end captured by our photographer
