Ieuan and Ellie's Wedding in Plaistow, West Sussex

Whilst getting our save the dates ready to send, we agreed we wanted a rustic look and feel to match our venue, settling on a beautiful burnt orange and dried flower style. Ellie started shopping for her dress 18 months in advance... (yes... 18!) and quickly fell in love in May & Grace bridal boutique. Cue research into veils, shoes, hair make up... you name it. Upon a final visit, the dress and veil were agreed on and more planning could commence. One thing that Ellie put her foot down on, was our photographer. Ellie had followed Lucy Dracott online for years prior to us getting engaged and strongly said 'We are using Lucy and there is nothing you can say that will change my mind'... and sure enough within a few weeks she was secured for our date and the photo previews we have seen already are absolutley beyond words.

We started looking into caterers, using the recommended suppliers list on the Rumbolds Farm website, and came across Kelmsley Catering who provided exactly the style of food we were after - sharing style BBQ boards, and sharing starters. We had numerous calls with Jacqueline, the fabulous head chef, to create a menu fit for our tastes and our guests and couldn't have been happier with the finished results, I remember thinking 'I really can't wait to eat this again' after our first tasting.

With the rest of the styling for our wedding party, the suits were a little more difficult, we had one in mind, but upon trying it just wasn't right, so back to the drawing board. Fortunately, we found a perfect replacement at Moss Bros and even better that they gave us the option to either rent or purchase. Bridesmaid dresses should've been more difficult, but fortunately the team at Rewritten Bridesmaids smashed it out the park, the colour was perfect, the experience was amazing, and all three girls loved the same dress... easy!

The flexibility of Rumbolds Farm allowed us to create a fun and interactive day for our guests, upon arrival from the church, we had mini golf set up, canapes and drinks served on the lawn, ahead of our wedding breakfast. In the evening, we have hot dogs, and kegs of beer from Crafty Brewing whilst Rockit played some insanely good tunes. Everyone got on the dance floor and had the best time.

Overall, the day was genuinely the best day we could ask for, our suppliers had everything in hand and knew everything they needed to, so we didn't have to make any decisions, or help with anything on the day, which was the best experience.

Our favourite moment of the day was sitting down at dinner, looking at everyone who was there to join us, with amazing food, drinks and a great evening coming soon. We just took a moment to ourselves to concentrate on what it meant, why we were there and what we would do in our future.
