Our Real Wedding
It was a beautiful day and everything carried out without a hitch! We had already had a small wedding ceremony some time ago, thus did not include the typical ceremonial elements, it was more of a celebration event.
The morning started with all the girls getting ready to some prepared fun hype music, breakfast was served to whoever was at the venue, coffee and teas were brought to the bridal suite as the ladies were getting ready.
The photographer and videographer arrived well in advance to set up and making an effort to capture the perfect shots. We had planned in having formal photography done before our guests were to arrive in the afternoon so that we could be freshly dressed, hair and make-up in place, and giving us plenty of time to mingle and enjoy the day.
As our guests arrived, they were served delicious canapes and refreshing mocktails in the sunshine. It was a wonderful surprise that the day began with a little rain and overcast, ended up being sunny and pleasant, allowing for all of our guests to enjoy the outdoor areas at our venue.
Continue reading »We then had all our guests move into the 'Secret Garden' where we had our food served, family style along our long table arrangements. The menu was 100% customised, the on-site chef was incredibly accommodating and responsive of our feedback during the planning process and taste testing process.
After the dinner we had some very touching speeches, after which we led our guests back to the main house to serve cake, tea and coffee, with a backdrop of a stunning sunset that happened that evening.
Once the main hall was turned around for the evening entertainment, the guests enjoyed dancing all night, with some refueling of beautifully flavoured and fresh fries as our late night meal, provided by the venue.
The most relieving element for the day-of, was that all the vendors were on time and were incredibly helpful and polite. There were no issues with the arrangements of anything from start to finish, all thanks to months of preparations and communications with each of the vendors. We had an incredible team at Stockton House that helped us from the minute we hit 'go'.
Overall, it was an amazing day, surrounded by friends and family from all over the world, under one roof, celebrating life and love.
