We got married in the beautiful Zakopane, Poland. Full of traditional wooden lodges, it was a beautiful wedding in the Polish Tatra mountains in the middle of winter. The theme of the wedding was to be a winter wonderland and it certainly was (there was a blizzard the day before). My family is from Poland and Jeff comes from Scotland, therefore, I tried to incorporate as many traditions from both sides as possible.
My family is Catholic so we got married in the stunning Swietego Krzyza church in Zakopane, however, with Jeff's family coming from a Church of Scotland background, we flew over a Church of Scotland priest to do the ceremony.
The reception was to be at Hotel Nosalowy Dwor and for the transport from the church to the hotel we arranged 10 horse and carriages for all 120 guests to travel back to. Since it was about -4 degrees, we supplied a bottle of lemon vodka in each carriage for the guests to warm themselves up.
At the hotel, we incorporated the traditional polish bread and salt on arrival, drinks, 3-course meal, an unlimited buffet of pierogi, golobki, highlander stew etc, cake buffet and an open bar for guests.

We had a Scottish Ceilidh Band play for the first half of the night and a Polish cover band with games and traditions after midnight. The wedding carried on until 4 am.
The next day we had an after-party at a Polish Highlander lodge with more festivities. It was a wonderful weekend and I wouldn't have had it any other way. I couldn't have done it without my wonderful wedding planner Kasia who managed to sort out pretty much everything!
