We could not believe our luck when we awoke on the morning of the big day. The sun was shining and it looked like it was going to be perfect.
I got ready at my attendant’s house. The fabulous Charlotte, from Polka Dot Hair and Beauty arrived to transform me into a princess for the day. I opted for a braid and loss curl look for the day, with a dark smoky eye makeup. I could not wait to get into my wedding dress and shoes. The Essence of Australia dress was perfect for the day I had planned and the irregular choice shoes were perfect.
It was exciting when the flowers from Bridal Flowers Direct of Horndean, arrived. The perfect mix of cream roses and baby blue hydrangeas, eucalyptus and rosemary grown (in my own garden). The long lace and ribbon trails were just what I wanted.
While I was getting ready, my guests and family where gathering in the car park of The Bird in Hand in Lovedean; awaiting the arrive of a vintage cream and blue bus, supplied by Classic Bus Hire. They were looking forward to a trip to the seaside.

HMS Warrior 1840 look wonderful in a cloudless blue sky, and there waiting was my wonderful husband in his Harris Tweed suit... although he was melting in the warm sunshine. Our amazing photographer Tom Langford took photos while I walk up the gangway towards my waiting partner.
After a wonderful ceremony conducted by my longest and best friend, we went on deck for a glass of champagne and for more photos. Mingling in the sunshine with friends and family was a real pleasure on such a wonderful ship.
We all boarded the bus and headed for a trip along Southsea seafront, with a short stop for an ice cream on the beach. A perfect excuse for a paddle in my wedding dress.
After arriving back at the Bird in Hand, we were met with a drinks reception, with an olive bar and bags of pork scratchings in a variety of favours. A beautiful speech was made by our 21-year son, there was hardly a dry eye in the house.
Andy and I went with Tom for a couples shoot in the South Downs National Park. The light was perfect and there are some amazing shoots that will keep our day alive forever.
We returned to the pub where we sat down to an amazing three course meal with a lot of wine! The tables and decoration was just how imaged it and the venue had done a great job of bring my vision to reality.
The evening slowly ended... then Andy and I walked home. A great way to finish a fabulous day.
