Our Real Wedding
I know everyone says it, but our Wedding Day was truly perfect. From the sheer LUCK of the weather on an October day to be a sunny, warm 18 degrees (enough for the groom to catch the sun on his face) even though we booked it 15 months prior, to the sheer perfection of our venue, registrar and coordinators to make the day go off seamlessly - we wouldn't have changed a single thing!
Our theme was a Lord of the Rings-style forest wedding, with plenty of pastel yellow and green hues decorated all over the place. The ceremony was laidback, informal and filled with lots of giggles and smiles. Our wedding breakfast was a beautiful BBQ buffet full of salmon, steak, potato salad, gluten free and vegan options - and our cake was supplied Cutter & Squidge with 50 cream teas hand-delivered from Cornwall to help feed our guests (the groom is Cornish, so we had to!).
We had donuts, cocktails, sweets, a customised pork pie tower, a grazing table, documentary style photographers, a chocolate fountain, a magic mirror photobooth and a DJ freestyling the music all night long - including a special hour where they played lots of rock and metal music just for me!
Continue reading »I had a gorgeous Bridget Bardot style gown all day, which was complimented with floral lace details to match the dried florals in my hair - which was already bright yellow to begin in! A magic moment happened just after our first dance (to Hooked on A Feeling - Blue Suede) in which I danced so much that my sleeve ripped off the dress and I couldn't stop laughing! I know the photographer captured this moment, and I can't wait to see my husband's reaction again! In the evening, I changed into a stunning 60's style mini dress so I could properly have a drink and relax into the evening.
It was so dreamy that when my new husband and I finally crawled up to the venue accommodation to sleep, we ended up just talking about everything we've been up to a few hours and crying the happiest tears as all our dreams came true. I'll be talking about our wedding for the rest of my life, and I can't wait to see our professional photography to come back so I can cry over the visual encapsulation of it all over again!
