Our Real Wedding

Like so many others our wedding was 2 years later than planned, finally being able to tie the knot in June this year- it was definitely worth the wait! We got married in my local church in Cardiff, which was filled full of flowers, before moving to Ross-On-Wye for our reception. Music was so important to us, we wanted our guests to be entertained wherever possible. The ceremony had musicians, a choir and an opera singer (who was spine-tingling) as well as having a string quartet and acoustic guitar at the reception. Flowers were an integral part of the day and I just wanted both the church and wedding breakfast to be packed full. I wanted the flowers to be very elegant and to feature heavily on garden roses, this made the church smell amazing, literally creating our own wedding scent! My Justin Alexander dress also tied the country theme together and had floral appliqués throughout as well as appearing on my cathedral veil. I loved it! Our wedding was quite intimate with just under 60 guests, this was the perfect amount for us as we were able to easily move around and chat with all our guests without feeling rushed. The reception was held at our dream venue, Glewstone Court Country House, which is a stunning manor looking out over the Herefordshire countryside. We had visited Glewstone before getting engaged and knew there was something special about it. Our country wedding had a sprinkle of Sri Lankan. Matt’s mum is Sri Lankan and we wanted to try and incorporate this into the day so we had a surprise Tuk Tuk photobooth and, best of all, Dhol drummers. Straight after our first dance, the Dhol drummers erupted and started the party. The room was full to bursting with people dancing. The evening then carried on with a fantastic band and DJ, we literally danced the night away. We had the most incredible day and wish we could do it all over again. It was filled with so much love, laughter and dancing!
