18 Dec, 2021Our Real Wedding
A cosy, rustic and relaxed winter wedding at a converted barn on a working farm. Textural, boho bouquet and posies with wine, burgundy, rust, bunny tails, pampas grass and thistle flowers. Lots of natural textures throught the wedding. I was happy and proud to be a curvy bride. Paul wanted to marry me exactly as I am. The ice was broken when my veil fell off whilst walking down the aisle! It was a Rosa Clara wedding dress with a back panel added so that I could wear a bra. My "best-maids" had mismatched grey bridesmaid dresses, embelished and embroided to match the texural and boho theme. We had all local suppliers, including the caterers who use local produce (and it was delicious!). Covid was once again rearing its ugly head so masks had to be worn during the ceremony. The Step-Father of the Bride and Groom gave funny but emotional Speeches acknowledging the late Father of the Bride. Groom was put "on trial" by best men! We made sure there were lots of meaningful touches, like nicknames on the place names and my cousin played acoustic guitar after the ceremony. Our first dance was to Elvis - Can't Help Falling In Love which resulted in a huge circle with the guests and dance off! We had a brilliant rock band, too - all the guests absolutely loved them.
