Our Real Wedding

With a typical British summer, our wedding in July was surrounded by awful weather and unpredictable forecasts. But we were so lucky that we had an absolutely glorious day of weather from start to finish! Our dream came true of then being able to get married outdoors in an Italian garden. We had one drop of rain the entire day, which happened to be during our vows, and landed on my husband's glasses!

Our wedding was rustic, mainly styled by ourselves with many local eco-friendly and second-hand touches. Our bridesmaids were in ivory rented bridesmaid dresses, and our groomsmen were in gorgeous dark green suits.

We had two close friends play folk music as we signed the registry and had our welcome drinks in the hot sunshine! Later on I did a surprise wedding dress change as we walked into our barn for the evening reception to a surprise funk brass band.

Their set was pushed back so our entire wedding could watch England win on penalties in the Euros - a moment we will never forget! It was a wedding full of love, nature, our personalities, a full dance floor, and everyone acting like they had known strangers their entire lives. The room was so full of love for us and everyone - it was simply magical.
