13 Apr, 2022Our Real Wedding
We had a beautiful Welsh wedding in Pwllheli at Talhenbont Hall, where we invited 35 of our closest friends and family to celebrate over 3 days; arrival Tuesday 12th April morning, wedding on Wednesday 13th and leaving 3pm on Thursday 14th. We brought along our dogs too, to be involved in the ceremony and reception, and adorned them with tutus matching the bridesmaids colour of dress. There was no particular brief for the florist, just to include daffodils and forget-me-nots for the grandparents who couldnt be there due to dementia and breast cancer, with some Welsh myrtle added in for good luck (a welsh tradition). We only asked for them to be colourful and arranged as naturally as possible.
Place settings were dinosaur figurines sprayed gold, and cut with a dremmel to fit the name tags which my mother in law made. We had a memorial table for those that we sadly lost along the way, including a painted VW camper van to pay ode to my grandparents who travelled around in one in their early marriage. There was no particular theme or dress code, guests were told to be comfortable. We also had a local string quartet play our favourite songs (including walking down the aisle to the theme from Gladiator, and walking out as newly weds to the Jurassic Park Theme). All guests stayed onsite with their own cottages.
