Winter Engagement Photo Outfits

If your engagement photos are being taken during the festive period, outdoor shoots will require snuggly coats, layers and cosy knits. You can also get away with adding a few touches of sparkle to your outfit just be cautious of how much - you don't want your wardrobe to be the star of the show!

Think jewel tones, such as greens and purple, as well as earthy hues including brown. You could also consider popping on a winter hat or scarf, especially if you are hoping for romantic snow-sprinkled snaps.

It is also available in navy, chocolate and dark green but we think this lighter silver is best suited for an engagement shoot.

How to Choose Engagement Shoot Outfits?

Couple smiling on an engagement photo shoot

If you are strictly a jeans and a tee kind of couple, don't drastically mix it up for your engagement shoot because you feel you have to. "Wear clothes that reflect who you are as a person - don't wear smart, formal clothes if you are always dressed casually in your day-to-day life," explains Daniel, from Daniel Thomas Photography

When choosing your engagement shoot outfit colour palette, neutrals are the way forward. "Always wear pastels and neutral tones. Bright colours will draw the eye to them and you want all the focus to be on your rather than your clothes," says Daniel.

He also suggests not matching your outfits, as it might make your photos look award, remembering to dress for the season and "choosing outfits that are classic rather than trendy. Fashionable clothes will look awful in 20 years time and you want your photos to be timeless."

How Many Outfits for Engagement Photos?

Don't treat your engagement shoot as a full-fledged fashion shoot - it'll over compilate things and you may feel flustered. "I'd I'd stick with two outfits as a maximum but one will more than do," recommends Daniel.

"However, if you do want different looks, the second outfit should be about layering to complement your first outfit. For example, if the first outfit is jeans and a t-shirt then the second outfit could be a jumper and a gilet to add on top."

Now the big news is out, here are the best engagement party tips and ideas to kick off your wedding journey in style
