Adelphi Hotel Liverpool Reviews & Testimonials
And don't just take our word for it. Here's what one newlywed couple had to say about their time at Adelphi Hotel Liverpool. They wrote, “My wife and I got married on the 16th of December, 2022. We spent months looking for the perfect wedding venue for our reception, but nothing could meet our needs until we came across the Adelphi Hotel Liverpool.
"We made an appointment to have a look and see what they could offer. When we arrived at the Adelphi Hotel, we were amazed at the entrance and how grand it was. We had a talk with the wedding team (who are absolutely amazing, by the way!) who have great knowledge and experience - all of which truly showed at our wedding!
"We went for the Twilight package for our big day, which included everything we wanted and more; all for one fantastic price. The wedding DJ that was included in the price was incredible; he was friendly, very polite, and extremely talented. When we arrived at our reception, we had photos taken on the grand stairs, and it was absolutely stunning.
"Afterwards, we were introduced to all of our guests in an incredible moment I will never forget. They were all greeted with drinks on arrival, I would love to add. After our amazing night was over, we got to stay in the wedding suite for the night. Wow, what a treat that was. Two massive rooms, a huge bathroom, and one of the comfiest beds I've ever slept in.
"For every couple looking to get married, save your time looking around when you have this incredible place that can offer you everything you need and want and so much more. Thank you, Lana and your team, for everything you did for us.”
As far as reviews go - they don't come much better than that!

The History of Adelphi Hotel Liverpool
Now for a bit of history, here's everything you need to know about Adelphi Hotel Liverpool.
Who Owns Adelphi Hotel Liverpool?
The Adelphi Hotel Liverpool is owned by Britannia Hotels, a premier hotel group with more than 60 hotels all over the United Kingdom. With locations in many of the best cities that the UK has to offer, Britannia Hotels can offer their guests a wealth of choices. From hotels near coastal beach towns to bustling cities, their unmatched level of service and care will help you feel at home wherever you go.
Some of their other hotel locations include the Britannia Edinburgh Hotel, the Britannia Inn Glasgow, and the Grand Hotel Scarborough.
How Old is Adelphi Hotel Liverpool?
The Adelphi Hotel Liverpool is one of the most historic buildings in the city. From its iconic exterior and central location, you’d be hard-pressed to find a Liverpool hotel wedding venue with the same reputation.
The original Adelphi Hotel first opened its doors in 1826, headed by hotelier James Radley. After a calm and somewhat uneventful half-century of business, the building was demolished, and the ‘second’ Adelphi Hotel was built in 1876.
This time around, the hotel was built with the keyword “luxury” in mind. Boasting more than 300 rooms, 140 attentive members of staff, and an atmosphere of elegance and class, Adelphi was renowned - especially for its turtle soup. After changing ownership, the third (and current) Adelphi Hotel reopened in 1914.
Throughout the years, the Adelphi Hotel Liverpool has played host to plenty of famous faces. Literary genius Charles Dickens stayed at the hotel multiple times over the years, even going so far as to list the establishment as one of his favourite hotels.
In the late 1940s, former Prime Minister Winston Churchill hosted a few strategy meetings here, and Prime Minister Harold Wilson’s preferred suite is still intact, and now bears his name. Musical stars who have visited the Adelphi include Frank Sinatra, Bob Dylan, Judy Garland, and Cilla Black.
You, too, can become a part of this illustrious history when you choose to host your magical wedding day here!
