There's something incredibly romantic and timeless about city wedding venues so it comes as no surprise that more and more couples are choosing to get hitched amongst the buzz of urban life.

Having just undergone an extensive renovation and redesign, Hyatt Regency - The Churchill in the UK's capital is up there with one of the best wedding venues London has to offer. From excellent transport links and chic interiors to endless entertainment options thanks to its central location, this is a wedding venue that's totally unique and undeniably luxe.

If you're looking for a romantic break or you're on the hunt for a London wedding venue we bet you'll fall head over heels for Hyatt Regency -The Churchill just like we did...

Location

Sitting moments away from Marylebone train station (less than a 10 minute walk to be exact), Hyatt Regency - The Churchill really does have all the best bits of the city on its doorstep.

To start, it's incredibly convenient if you are travelling in via train with the choice of Marylebone, Baker Street and Bond Street stations all easily accessible on foot or a short drive away.

A really special feature about this venue is its surprising tranquillity despite being in the heart of the hustle and bustle. Set across from leafy Portman Square it isn't noisy at all and if you bag yourself a room on the garden side you'll have spectacular views across the hotel's picturesque gardens.

Style & Vibe

It might be easy to get to but once you've entered through the glass doors, (and been greeted by an attentive hotel team member), you won't want to leave.

The hotel's design subtly nods to Winston Churchill, with elegant art work and décor themed around his life dotted throughout the space. The wedding function rooms, which are cleverly connected giving you and your guests privacy on the special day, are spacious and striking.

The Gallery is ideal for creative couples, dedicated to Winston Churchill's love of art - it's light, airy and our jaws dropped when we saw the crystal chandeliers. As we made our way into the Chartwell Ballroom, opulent interiors met art deco in this versatile space. Able to accommodate 180 guests, it's ideal for an evening reception as it has more than enough room to dance the night away.

As for the bedrooms? There's so many modern amenities, from the huge king bed and TV to the luxury en-suite fitted with a walk-in shower and an incredibly fancy Japanese toilet.

Food & Drink

If you're after a tipple before dinner, head to The Churchill Bar and Terrace. Tucked away from the busy London streets it's a peaceful, plant filled space to sit back and unwind in. The cocktail menu World of Wanderlust is inspired by travels and as you sip alfresco they'll transport you to far away destinations. We loved the Aurora - a delicious mix of vodka, lychee juice, blueberry syrup and soda. If you like the sound of that too, their expert mixologists will be more than happy to rustle them up for your wedding welcome drinks or reception.

The hotel's adjoining restaurant the Montagu Kitchen, serves up modern British food and did not disappoint. We recommend the warm rosemary and potato bread with butter and salt to start and the indulgent Eton Mess to finish. Or if you’re planning on heading out, there are lots of great dining options just short walk or tube ride away.

What to Do

Being close to Baker Street and Bond Street can only mean one thing... you guessed it - shopping! Whether you're taking a quick trip to Selfridges to pick up a forgotten wedding gift or you just fancy a mooch around the West End, you won't have to worry about carrying your bags far.

If you've just had your wedding ceremony, you might want a romantic moment alone with your new husband or wife. Cross over the road to the picturesque gardens on Portman Square where you'll have privileged access to enter. Just ask the concierge for a key to be let into this urban oasis.

What to Instagram

Whether you're after wedding photographs or a snap for the 'gram, the lobby and reception areas are seriously impressive, giving a subtle nod to Winston Churchill like the rest of hotel. With marble details, fireplaces and modern lighting, we loved the vibe.

As already mentioned, with a name like Wonders of Wanderlust is it any surprise that the cocktails served at The Churchill Bar & Terrace are Instagramable? We couldn't help grabbing a few shots next to the lush greenery in this fabulous outside space.
