Pantone have announced that Ultra Violet is their Colour Of The Year for 2018, and it’s a gorgeous bright purple hue that works perfectly as an accent to your wedding colour scheme.
With the blue-based violet shade thrust into the limelight, it’s set to be a big wedding trend for 2018, so we’ve rounded up our favourite wedding ideas inspired by and including Pantone’s Ultra Violet colour.
The name alone conjures plenty of inspiration, from the floral aspect of violet to the space and astronomy theme of ultraviolet light.
Charlotte Ricard, founder and creative director of bespoke event planners La Fete, says that this shade works across all seasons.
“Purple is a colour that transcends seasons. It may be used more in conjunction with darker tones in the winter, such as ruby reds, emerald greens, etc. However, in summer it could be used more as a lavender tone with whites, pinks, greens and hints of darker purple.
“I would suggest flowers are the way to include Ultra Violet into a wedding. It makes a more sophisticated look, rather than a full explosion of purple which could be too much. Less is more, but you can play with various hues of purple and lilac, and don’t forget to blend in with whites/creams and touches of greenery,” she said.
