Still have some questions about wildflower wedding bouquets? We spoke to expert florist Amy Wood at The Wildflower Co to find out how you can create the perfect whimsical wildflower look for your wedding:
Which Flowers are in a Wildflower Bouquet?
“Depending on whether you’d like a garden gathered wildflower style or a meadow style bouquet we use different flowers. It also depends on the season you’re getting married as to what flowers are available.
“However a typical wildflower bouquet might include delphiniums, feverfew, roses, sweet peas and cosmos with lots of lovely foliage and texture.”
How Do You Make a Wildflower Bouquet?
“A traditional bridal bouquet tends to have one flower (like a rose for example) which is the focal of the bouquet. This is then complimented with smaller flowers and some foliage for texture.
“A wildflower bouquet does not tend to have the same repetition of flowers throughout and uses a variety of textures and flowers to create that garden gathered, wild bouquet we all know and love!”
Are Wildflowers Cheaper for a Wedding?
“Unfortunately not! Wildflowers have become a lot more popular in recent years but anything which is unusual tends to be on the pricey side.
“Due to the style of a wildflower look, your florist will need to purchase lots of different types of flowers and foliage.”
What Is In a Wildflower Bouquet?
“There are two types of wildflower bouquet; a garden gathered style and a meadow style bouquet. The garden gathered tends to use a variety of larger flowers and lots of lovely texture! This creates the feel that the bouquet was just picked from someone’s garden.
“The meadow style tends to be full of foliage, grasses and much smaller flowers and would look similar to a wildflower patch you might see in a garden or by the side of the road.”
