How to Explain if Your Wedding is Postponed or Cancelled

Whatever the reason, we advise how to let the guests know the wedding has been cancelled or postponed

If you need to cancel, postpone or change something regarding the details of your wedding after the wedding invites have been posted, it is crucial to notify your guests as soon as possible. You should follow up the wedding invite with a note explaining that the wedding is no longer taking place, or whatever the circumstance may be. It is up to you how much you reveal when cancelling the wedding invites or changing the information that has already been sent. It’s important to also include the details you had on your wedding invite, such as date, time and locations in case guests have lost the original invite and want to alter their diary. If you are postponing you should mention if a new wedding invite will follow, or include the new wedding details on the postponement notice if you already know the updated details.

We hope you’ll never have to worry about postponing or cancelling your wedding, but just in case here are some guidelines of suitable wording
