“I Started Crying like a Baby” EastEnders Star Louisa Lytton Reveals Shock Engagement

Louisa revealed her total shock after beau Ben popped the question on holiday

EastEnders actress Louisa Lytton has revealed she’s engaged to long-term boyfriend Ben Bhanvra.

The star, who played Ruby Allen in the soap, was whisked away to the Maldives to celebrate her 30th birthday.

It was there that Ben got down on one knee to pop the question. However, things didn’t quite go as expected, and his plans were moments away from going pear-shaped!

Ben told OK! Magazine: “I took Louisa to a quiet part of the island where no one else would be around.

“I told her I wanted to fly my drone to get some aerial pictures of the island, although really I wanted it to capture a video of the moment I proposed.”

He continued: “As soon as I got it up in the air and reached to get the ring from the bag, a cleaner walked past and was so mesmerised by the drone he was just stood next to us staring at it for ages.

“I had to wait for him to leave. The cleaner finally disappeared so I got a speaker out of my bag that I was going to use to play a song for when I proposed, but the Wi-Fi signal was bad so I couldn’t get it to play.

“By this point, I was so frustrated that I just grabbed the ring and got down on one knee!”

Louisa was totally shocked by the proposal, and revealed that when she realised what was happening, she burst into tears.

“When I saw him on one knee I started crying like a baby. I was so excited but my brain went into overdrive and I started freaking out. I had no idea he was going to propose”, she said.

“My life has done a complete 180”, so continued. “If you told me five years ago I’d have a stable job, working on a show I love and engaged, I would never have believed you.”

Now that Ben’s popped the question, the pair are planning on getting married in New York, which is where Ben is originally from.

Louisa added: “We want to buy a house together before we’re married, so we’re hoping to get that done by the end of the year!”

It looks like Louisa has a pretty exciting couple of years ahead! Congratulations to the happy couple.
