EastEnders star Matt Di Angelo has announced his engagement to girlfriend of five years, Sophia Perry.
The 32 year old is best known for paying Dean Wicks in the BBC soap but has also appeared as Sean Kennedy in BBC drama Hustle.

Matt shared his exciting news with his Instagram followers, revealing that he had popped the question on the beach with pizza and champagne. Sounds like our dream proposal!
His photo showed a bottle of Champagne alongside the dazzling diamond engagement ring, which he simply captioned “Got pizza today”.
The couple, who have been dating since 2014, are currently on holiday in the Dominican Republic.

Matt’s EastEnders co-stars were quick to congratulate the happy couple. Ex-EastEnders co-star Rita Simons commented: “Mazeltov!!! Finally! You’re gonna be a real grown up!!!”
Hollyoaks star James Sutton added: “MAAAAAATE!!! HUGE congrats to you both. Wonderful news x”.
Matt’s new fiancée Sophia also shared the news to her own Instagram account, with a photograph of herself on the beach, eating pizza and donning her sparkly new ring.
Opting for a snap of herself in a beautiful orange bikini and chic white beach cover up, she wrote: “I <3 PIZZA… AND MY FIANCÉ @mattdiangelo”.

Before the pair met, Matt dated Strictly Come Dancing professional Flavia Cacace after they appeared on the show together in 2007.
Flavia ended her relationship with professional dance partner Vincent Simone, and the pair were together for three years.
After Strictly Come Dancing ended, Matt returned for his second stint on EastEnders between 2014 and 2016. Although he hasn’t returned to the show since, he teased after his departure that “no one can tell the future… it could be right for me to go back one day…”
