Hitched Competition Winners Tie the Knot in £25,000 Dream Wedding
Kayleigh and Ryan were able to tie the knot *two years* ahead of plan after winning a whopping £25,000 in Hitched's 'Win a Dream Wedding' competition
Sure, it’s December and we’re almost in 2024 (eek!), but let us rewind your minds back to March this year when we announced the winners of our first ever Dream Wedding Competition.
For anyone unfamiliar, and those who have been living under a rock since spring, let us refresh your memories.
Here at Hitched, we decided to kick off 2023 with our biggest and most extravagant wedding competition ever. We decided to give one lucky couple a staggering £25,000 towards planning their dream wedding with our Hitched suppliers and venues.
You entered in your thousands, but it was Kayleigh and Ryan from Cambridgeshire who struck gold and won the competition.
Hitched Competition Winners Say ‘I Do’ After Winning Their Dream Wedding
Kayleigh and Ryan had initially planned to get married in 2025 due to funds as they wanted to give themselves plenty of time to save the money they needed for the day of their dreams.
However, after winning the Hitched Dream Wedding competition, the pair were able to tie the knot this summer, surrounded by their closest family and friends.
Here's all their wedding details, along with the businesses that helped make it happen.
Their Dream Wedding Venue
Right from the start, Kayleigh and Ryan set their sights on getting married at Hitched wedding venue Chippenham Park.
Ahead of the big day, Kayleigh told us, “If I could describe our dream wedding day, it would be an outdoor wedding ceremony at Chippenham Park, acoustic music playing in the background and having all of our family around us, including the ones who live in Australia. We want to be surrounded by all the blossoming flowers and (hopefully!) a bright, shining sun.
“After the ceremony, we want a big celebration in a garden marquee with food, drinks, wedding speeches and an evening of fun and lots of dancing. Seeing everyone happy and celebrating will be such a high for us on the day. Family is so important to us and we can’t wait to share this with them.”
A Beautiful Day With Friends and Family
Spoiler alert - everything they wished for came true.
Kayleigh and Ryan said ‘I do’ in an outdoor ceremony at Chippenham Park and put on an elegant and stylish day with the help of several Hitched wedding suppliers, and all of which was captured by wedding photographer Juan Muino.
The pair travelled to the venue in style, using My Wedding Cars as their choice of transport. “They chose our 1966 Austin Princess Limousine, ‘Gracie’ as the bridal car, and our unique eight seater vintage style Asquith wedding bus ‘Bugsy’ as transport for the wedding party,” explains the team there.
To beautify the venue (though it didn't need much!), the couple chose House of Blooms to provide their wedding flowers, and what a decision that was!
The House of Blooms team explain, “Kayleigh had a vision of florals all along their top table for the reception and lots of lovely florals in their marquee. The flowers we chose were romantic and sumptuous, with lots of different varieties of ivory and blush roses, spray roses, sweet peas, scabiosa, stocks and delphiniums.
"On the day we created a free standing broken wedding arch for their outdoor ceremony. For that, we used lots of beautiful delphiniums, roses and stocks.”
Also helping to bring the vision to life were the team at Easy and Elegant Weddings who topped up the floral decor with a number of stylish add-ons to complete the look.
Dreamy Food & Wedding Entertainment
Lucky guests at the wedding got to enjoy excellent food and entertainment throughout the day.
Crown Catering worked with the couple to create fun and informal dishes to be served during the day and into the evening as well.
“Kayleigh and Ryan wanted a relaxed and informal feel to the day,” says the catering company, “A selection of canapes were served during the reception drinks, and were followed by a BBQ menu with sharing salads on each table for the wedding breakfast. For sweets, a trio of miniature desserts were served at the end.
“Once the formal side of the day was over and the evening party started, our staff served a selection of late-night snacks to include bacon rolls, bowls of mac ‘n’ cheese and mini cones of beer battered haddock and fries.”
And what pairs perfectly with BBQ food and evening snacks? Crazy golf of course!
We’re not kidding, the couple enlisted the help of CrazyGolf4U to ensure all of their guests were thoroughly entertained. Speaking about their involvement in the wedding, the team there told us, “Chippenham Park was a dream place to have crazy golf!”
