Made in Chelsea's James Taylor: Age, Job & Parents

James Taylor is 27 years old and was born 9th April 1995 making him a Aries, if you care. He studied Global Business Management between 2014 - 2018 at Regent's University in London and is also an avid polo player. In fact, James was given a Polo scholarship from the university, which is pretty impressive seeing as only two are awarded each year. 

He's played at a number of clubs both in the UK and across the pond in the United States (Dallas, to be exact), but calls England his home. James has three siblings, Emma, Jack (pictured) and Libby and grew up with them and his parents in Saffron Walden, Essex. Imagine how differently things could have turned out if James had become a TOWIE boy instead?

James Taylor's parents have their own family business related to sales engineering. Not much information is out there about James Taylor's parents and family life, however he has mentioned private planes and house spas in episodes of Made in Chelsea, hinting at plenty of family wealth, and, according to Idol Networth, James himself has an estimated net worth of around £6million. 

James Taylor joined Made in Chelsea five years ago at the same time as Digby, Habbs and Clemmie. His first scene on the show showcased James teaching co-star Sam Prince how to play polo - how very Chelsea of them. James wasn't always loved up with Maeva, and has history dating several Made in Chelsea girls including Verity Bowditch, Georgia Toffolo, Tiffany Watson, Frankie Gaff and a few others.

Since dating Maeva, fans have watched James work tirelessly to provide a good life for his wife-to-be, with the couple splitting their time between the city and the countryside where James works. 

Made in Chelsea's Maeva D'Ascanio: Age, Job & Parents

Maeva D'Ascanio's age has always been kept pretty close to her chest, but last year she posted a picture with big '30' balloons to celebrate her milestone birthday. Her birthday is 12th August, making her a fire sign (no surprise there!) and she will turn 31 this summer. 

Maeva is the daughter of Corinne Gastaldo-D'Ascanio and Thierry D'Ascanio (pictured). Maeva's parents have made a few appearances on Made in Chelsea, a few times while she was on-again and off-again with ex Miles Nazaire, and meeting her now-fiancé James. 

In terms of work, Maeva does what many Made in Chelsea cast members do. She's a social media influencer and brand ambassador, regularly sharing her brand partnerships and exclusive lines with her 329,000 followers. 

Maeva left the chic streets of Paris, France to join the Made in Chelsea cast during series 17 - very similar timing to James, interestingly. She now lives in Chelsea (obvs!), but splits her time between the city and the countryside with James.

James and Maeva's Made in Chelsea journey began in 2019, but both were cast members before they began dating. Maeva first burst onto our screens as Miles Nazaire's on-off girlfriend and the pair had three years of relationship history long before either of them joined the reality show.

Maeva and Miles decided to call it a day after many, many ups and downs. Maeva then met James and their story began. 

June 2019

James and Maeva met during Made in Chelsea's summer special in 2019. Though it was clear to viewers that Maeva was still very much in love with her ex Miles, she and James kissed on a night out during filming. Needless to say, Miles wasn't happy. 

Maeva told her ex and explained that she and James had chemistry and she just "couldn't control it." Obviously Miles was furious, smashed a glass and exited the bar dramatically. 

September 2019

As we all know, nothing's Bible until we see it on Instagram. So, after much controversy, James and Maeva made things official in September 2019, posting a picture together confirming their relationship. Many cast members disagreed with this and felt as though Maeva was doing this to try and get back at Miles, but they've gone on to prove all the haters wrong!

March 2020

In March 2020, and during the height of the pandemic, Maeva and James moved to France together. They stayed there for a few months and skipped a season of filming Made in Chelsea.

November 2020

The couple then returned to reality TV and moved in together back in the UK. Whilst back on our screens, it was clear to viewers that James and Maeva were on slightly different pages. Maeva was manifesting engagement, wedding, children and a very serious relationship, while boyfriend James was very much not there yet. 

October 2021

There was no denying that James and Maeva loved each other very much, but that whole 'being on different pages' thing seemed to become too much for them and in October 2021, the couple called things quits. 

November 2021

We told you they loved each other! Maeva and James's split lasted less than a month, and in November 2021, they were happily back together. Viewers could see a clear shift in James's behaviour in the following series. He was more willing to talk about getting serious and showed clear commitment to Maeva. 

Maeva then went to meet with a wedding planner. But, just to be clear, they were not engaged at this point. In fact, Maeva told OK! Magazine, "When she [the wedding planner] saw me, she said it's the first time she's seen someone who is planning her wedding and she's not engaged yet."

March 2022

Maeva is a woman who knows what she wants, and we love that about her. The spring 2022 series of Made in Chelsea saw Maeva get down on one knee and propose to James after three years together. Although the couple had been seen to talk about marriage, children and a future together, James turned down the proposal. 

"Get up. I can't say yes, this is silly!" James said in response to the proposal. Explaining his actions afterwards, James said he would "never in a million years" let her propose to him. It was clear James had his own plans for popping the question to Maeva, or so we thought. 

James was caught kissing another girl on camera whilst on a night out in Raffles. Though this was a devastating blow for their relationship, it became clear that James really did want to make an honest woman of Maeva, confessing to his co-stars that he'd already bought an engagement ring for his girlfriend. 

May 2022

The scenes of Maeva proposing to James were aired in May 2022, but had taken place months before. In actual May 2022, James finally popped the question to Maeva whilst on holiday in Rome together. Maeva was delighted and couldn't wait to share the news with the world. 

From one exciting announcement to another, Maeva and James shared the news that they were expecting their first child together shortly after they got engaged. Sharing the news with fans, they confirmed their baby was due November 2022.

November 2022

Maeva gave birth to the couple's first child in November.

James Taylor and Maeva D'Ascanio have one child together. On 30th November 2022, Maeva gave birth to Beau Christian Taylor. Announcing the news, James wrote, "I’m pretty proud of this. Very well done for enduring that experience @maevadascanio now we have our little boy and bonne chance to us"

Maeva also posted about the news on Instagram, writing [sic]: "Welcoming the last 9 months and 11 days into our lives this morning was everything and more than we could have ever hoped for. I’m so happy I’ve now met you my little roast. @jamestaylorldn is going to be the best daddy ever.

"Being induced on Sunday and trying to achieve a virginal birth from the outset wasn’t meant to be. We both decided along with the amazing doctors at the Rosie that a C section was the safest option to bring our boy to us'. On Wednesday morning 30/11/2022 Beau Christian Taylor joined our growing family (9lbs 9oz!)"

Are James Taylor & Maeva D'Ascanio Married?

James and Maeva aren't married yet. Following their engagement in May 2022, their wedding plans had to be put on hold while the couple welcomed their first child together, Beau.

Speaking to Bobby Norris on Fubar Radio, ahead of their son's birth, James said, "We’re getting there, we’ve secured the venue. It’s going to be quite some time yet; the baby has to be born and we want him at the end of the aisle with me." Maeva added, "We’re not organising anything right now, we’re focusing on the baby and then we’ll see." 

The couple did say that they were "aiming for a Christmas 2023 wedding", so watch this space!
