Couple Hunt for Caterer Willing to Prepare Roadkill Wedding Breakfast

The couple have a £5,000 budget for any caterer who'll serve the roadkill to their unsuspecting guests!

An engaged couple have put out a desperate plea for a caterer who’s willing to prepare a “roadkill banquet” at their upcoming September wedding.

The anonymous pair, who live in the Cotswolds, have 20kg of roadkill meat in their freezer that they intend to serve to their 30 unsuspecting wedding guests.

Posting on online local services marketplace Bark.com, the eco-conscious couple explained that they have been eating roadkill for three years and want a wedding breakfast that offsets their carbon footprint.

However, the menu of woodland squirrel, pheasant, rabbit, partridge and deer needs to be “dressed up” as some of their guests aren’t as impressed with their sustainable lifestyle.

The post reads: “The environment is so important to us, and will continue to be as we settle down and start our family. Although money isn’t too much of an issue, weddings are resource heavy and result in so much waste that we don’t want to have any part in that.

“We know that this isn’t something the ‘average’ chef would be happy in helping us with, but are hoping that someone with the right skills and our same passion for the environment can step forward and help us out.

“We have sourced the meat, so all they’d need to do is come up with some delicious recipes to put on a roadkill banquet for our 30 guests, we have approximately 20kg of roadkill meat in our freezer!

“We personally have been eating roadkill meat for about three years now, neither of us wanted to go vegetarian but were becoming increasingly concerned about the state of the environment.

“That being said, not all of our friends and family agree with this lifestyle choice so we would need the chef to be able to ‘dress it up’ so that our guests are unaware of what they’re eating.”
