Ever since we found out that Stacey Soloman’s wedding style was inspired by the Fejka plant (there's an IKEA wedding hack in there somewhere), we’ve been obsessed with the idea of a botanical wedding theme. The botanical colour scheme has been around for a while in the world of weddings, and trust us when we say it's not going anywhere.
This stylish wedding colour scheme is perfect for couples who prefer more of a chic, minimalist approach to wedding styling. Whilst this theme lends itself well to simple, chic weddings, the botanical wedding style is versatile and can be used in bold, colourful weddings, romantic winter occasions and outdoor bohemian celebrations.
What is a Botanical Wedding Theme?
Whilst we’re strong believers that all themes are open for interpretation, in the simplest of terms, the word ‘botanical’ means something obtained or derived from a plant. In wedding speak, botanical is very much a green or green and white colour palette. Other colours can be woven into the theme, but for a wedding to be considered botanical, green (all shades included) will be the focal colour.
How to Style a Botanical Wedding
There’s one thing, and one thing only that will completely transform any wedding into the botanical day of dreams - and that, friends, is foliage. Foliage and greenery are what botanical décor and themes are all about. Whether it’s fresh floral décor, botanical designs on your wedding stationery, or a wall of faux foliage - adding fresh green hues to your wedding colour palette is the best way to achieve a botanical wedding style.
