What better way to get yourself excited about your own wedding planning than taking a look back at the best celebrity weddings in 2022?
Celebrity wedding dresses, engagement rings, wedding styles and locations provide us with so much inspiration - they're often the catalyst as to what the next biggest wedding trends will be.
2022 was a big year for celebrity weddings. We saw so many famous couples tie the knot from pop stars and reality TV couples, to a Loose Woman and a Kardashian! As we draw towards the end of the year, let's take a look at the most iconic celebrities who got married in 2022.
The Best Celebrity Weddings of 2022
With so many of our favourite faces getting show-stopping celebrity engagement rings in 2020 and 2021, we always knew that this year would be big for celebrity weddings - but we didn't expected them to be this good!
1. Stacey Solomon & Joe Swash
Anyone else feel like they’ve been waiting for this celebrity wedding forever? Luckily for us all 2022 was the year of Stacey Solomon and Joe Swash's wedding, and boy was it worth waiting for...
The couple had a fairly low-key proposal consisting of a walk in the woods near their home, and Stacey always assured fans that their wedding will follow suit. They tied the knot at their beloved home Pickle Cottage with their five children - including new baby Rose - in attendance.
Stacey wore one of our favourite celebrity wedding dresses of 2022 - a gorgeous Berta bridal gown which she paired with flat wedding shoes and a gorgeous wedding veil.
Stacey had some celebrity bridesmaids including BFF Mrs Hinch by her side - but the celebrity status of the guestlist didn't stop Stacey and Joe from keeping everything else very low key. Their botanical wedding dream was made a reality in their very own garden. In the lead-up to the wedding, Stacey shared DIY wedding decor tips with fans as she prepared for the big day.
2. Britney Spears & Sam Asghari
We were so thrilled when Britney announced her engagement to long-term boyfriend Sam Asghari. The couple - who met in October 2016 - got engaged in September 2021 and announced the news with a fun Instagram post in which Britney showed off her ring finger.
Britney’s engagement ring reportedly cost £50,000 and has a secret message reading ‘lioness’ etched into the underside of the ring - footballer Jill Scott and her partner Shelly Unitt would be pleased about that - although we're pretty sure Sam wasn't referring to the England women's football team...
Though they initially wanted a Hawaiian wedding, the pair said 'I do' in an romantic ceremony at their house in California in June 2022. The guestlist wasn't short of famous faces with the likes of Madonna, Donatella Versace, Selena Gomez, Drew Barrymore, the Hiltons and more.
3. Brooklyn Beckham & Nicola Peltz
We'd be pretty surprised if you hadn't already seen the lavish wedding of Brooklyn Beckham and Nicola Peltz earlier this year - it was only featured in Vogue - no big deal or anything. Brooklyn and Nicola tied the knot in a ceremony at her family's £103 million estate in Palm Beach, Florida.
If the luxury wedding venue wasn't enough, it's reported that their wedding ceremony cost a whopping £3,000,000 - we take it they didn't need our guide to wedding budgets then hey?
4. Ross Matthews & Dr. Wellingthon Garcia
The hilarious Ross Matthews and his partner Dr. Wellingthon Garcia announced their engagement in February 2021 and tied the knot in May this year. The couple married in a picturesque resort in Mexico along with 110 of their closest family and friends.
The Ru Paul's Drag Race judge gained a lot of traction to his wedding because it was beautiful, of course, but that's not the only reason. Ross and Wellingthon will forever be legends in our eyes because they had DREW BARRYMORE as their flower girl. How iconic is that?!
5. Kourtney Kardashian & Travis Barker
It's hard to pinpoint exactly when Kourtney Kardashian and musician Travis Barker tied the knot as they had not one, but three weddings. We're not surprised - after that stunning proposal picture, we expected nothing less.
Their first wedding was an unofficial ceremony in April, hosted in Las Vegas. This was followed by the official ceremony which took place in Santa Barbara, California, in May of 2022. The pair's third and final wedding was a lavish ceremony at Dolce & Gabbana's L'Olivetta villa in Portofino, Italy.
Kourtney also honed in on one of the biggest bridal trends of the year, embroidered veils. She wore one which had the words "Family, Loyalty, Respect" etched into the lace - a quote which came from one of her new husband's tattoos.
6. Tiffany Watson & Cameron McGeehan
Made in Chelsea alumni Tiffany Watson married her footballer boyfriend Cameron McGeehan in the spring of 2022. The couple tied the knot in a chic, sophisticated ceremony in Surrey with co-stars Olivia Bentley, Melissa Tattam, Jamie Laing and Sophie Habboo and a number of other famous faces, including her sister Lucy Watson who married her husband James in 2021.
Tiffany wore another one of our favourite celebrity wedding dresses in 2022 - the simplicity of it is so gorgeous, and it perfectly matched her husband's summer wedding suit.
7. Aston Merrygold & Sarah Richards
Dancer Sarah Richards was engaged to JLS singer Aston Merrygold for more than four years before they tied the knot in 2022 - but in their defence, they’ve weren't just sitting around avoiding wedding planning. Between getting engaged and getting married, the pair have welcomed two children!
The couple were due to get married at the end of 2021, but the postponed JLS tour took precedence.
2022 was most definitely their year, and saw the couple say their vows in a romantic ceremony hosted in Liverpool. Along with 155 guests, Aston and Sarah celebrated their nuptials with his bandmates, a shisha tent and Pan-Asian canapes - sounds like a great time to us!
8. Louisa Lytton & Ben Bhanvra
Eastenders actress Louisa Lytton had to postpone her 2020 wedding due to the Covid restrictions in place at the time, but she and her fiancé Ben Bhanvra have been kept busy - they welcomed their first child, a daughter called Aura, in August 2021 - and they've just announced a new baby is on the way!
The couple originally planned to get hitched in New York, but Louisa shared that she’d flown to Italy for a wedding planning session after changing her mind about marrying in the USA. It’s safe to say the pair love to travel - they even got engaged on a trip to the Maldives!
Louisa and Ben had a small UK-based wedding before jetting off to Italy to say their vows under the Italian sunshine. Inspired by Louisa's wedding? Here's some more reasons why you should get married in Italy - it'll tempt you even more.
9. Danny Miller & Steph Jones
Danny Miller had a heck of a 2021 - he got engaged to his partner, Steph Jones, in January whilst they were on holiday to St Lucia, and the couple had their first baby, Albert, in October. In the midst of all this, he also won the 21st series of I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here.
His time on the show was well spent as it scored him a new addition to the guest list - footballer David Ginola, who explained he’d be in the UK in June 2022 in order to attend Danny’s wedding! Danny also posted a picture on his IG of Steph and him walking hand-in-hand and captioned it with: 'The year we become the Millers'.
We love a celebrity couple who give us the goods - and Danny and Steph stayed true to their word. The couple tied the knot in Nunsmere Hall Hotel in Tarporley with 140 wedding guests by their side. Their wedding party left no one out with all 12 of their joint nieces and nephews acting as page boys and flower girls.
Proving that family was really at the heart of this wedding, the pair had arranged for their son Albert to be pulled along in a kart (by one of Steph's nephews Rowan) with flowers and a sign on it reading, 'Daddy here comes Mummy' - we bet there wasn't a dry eye in the house. We'd certainly be in tears.
10. Graziano Di Prima & Giada Lini
Strictly Come Dancing professional dancer got engaged to fellow dancer Giada Lini back in May 2019. Before they even announced any details of their wedding, there was one thing we always knew for certain, their first dance would be truly spectacular!
Graziano and Giada headed to their native Italy to get married in 2022. They had originally planned to tie the knot in 2020, but the pandemic spoilt their plans twice. The pair wed in a 90-minute ceremony which took place on an island off of Sicily. There were 200 guests in attendance to watch the teary couple as they said their vows.
11. Oritse Williams & Kazz Kumar
Perhaps inspired by his bandmate Aston Merrygold, JLS singer Oritse proposed to his girlfriend Kazz Kumar whilst on tour with the band in October 2021.
He planned an elaborate proposal in a hotel in Cardiff and had a pink sapphire diamond ring flown in from Sri Lanka. Despite her partner's celebrity status, we knew Kazz would be super down to Earth after we found out she requested KFC as her engagement celebration dinner - that's our kinda bride!
Oritse and Kazz chose to get married in Jamaica - not just because it's a gorgeous destination wedding location - but because it held real sentimental significance for Oritse.
In an interview with Hello! he opened up about its importance to him: "Jamaica holds a very special place in my heart. My mother’s family is from Jamaica." Oritse, who's mother suffers from multiple sclerosis, has cared for her since the age of 12.
He continued, "She was over the moon that we’re getting married here; she couldn’t wait for us to see the country she's from. I wanted my first time here to be a life-changing moment – and what is more life-changing than marrying the love of my life?"
If that wasn't enough of a trip down memory lane, you can see all the celebrities who got married in 2021 if you need even more celebrity wedding inspo!
