Wedding Venues in Tyne & Wear
Brimming with sandy beaches and cultural quayside cities, Tyne and Wear is a fantastic place to tie the knot. It is filled with beautiful wedding venues and other attractions that make it so tempting to couples. Here are our favourites:
Shotton Grange – Newcastle
Shotton Grange is an elegant Georgian manor and coaching house which has recently been transformed into one of the best and most exclusive wedding venues in the North East. Set within tranquil countryside, you’d never guess you were just five miles north of Newcastle.
From the moment you approach Shotton Grange, you’ll know you’re in for a treat. Arrive the day before and enjoy light refreshments before putting the finishing touches to your decorations. You can then enjoy dinner and drinks with your nearest and dearest in the lounge and cocktail bar.
On the morning of your wedding, enjoy a delicious continental breakfast before you get ready for your vows. Whether you choose the stunning Coach House or idyllic gardens for your ceremony, you can be guaranteed the most beautiful of backdrops.
Once you’ve hosted reception drinks and taken photographs in the grounds, your Master of Ceremonies will escort you into the Coach House for a mouth-watering menu paired with fine wines. It’s then time to let your hair down and dance the night away (and make several trips to the timber bar which serves continental beers and craft cocktails, of course).
Spanish City – Whitley Bay
Dreaming of getting married at a wedding venue by the sea? If you choose Spanish City, you can. It’s a beautiful venue which dates back to 1910 and has grandeur and elegance in abundance.
Recent renovations have elevated this wedding venue to whole new levels of luxury, with perhaps the most striking feature being the ceiling dome which is now visible from the ground floor for the first time ever.
There’s a variety of spaces licensed to host your wedding ceremony here, but our favourite has got to be the rooftop – the perfect space for an intimate ceremony.
On top of all of this, you’ll be able to host your wedding breakfast in the St Mary’s Lighthouse Suite and get escorted by a chauffeur to a hotel of your choice at the end of the night. How totally dreamy.
The Biscuit Factory – Newcastle
Here at Hitched HQ, we’re huge fans of the warehouse wedding venue. Warehouses are quirky blank canvases which can be completely transformed with the right suppliers.
The Biscuit Factory is just that: a unique wedding venue housed within a former Victorian warehouse in the heart of Newcastle’s cultural quarter. They are the leading venue in the city for couples seeking an alternative experience.
The interiors are characterised by wooden beams, artwork and original exposed brickwork, with the Biscuit Room itself offering a metropolitan-style blank canvas which you can totally make your own.
The venue can host up to 120 guests but is also perfect for smaller weddings of up to 40. It has a dedicated wedding team, an amazing customisable wedding breakfast menu and plenty of outdoor space. What do you think to getting married in the UK’s largest contemporary art gallery?
