For Incredible Décor: Beaverbrook, Surrey
No shade to any spas (we love them all!), but they can all blend into one after you’ve been to a few - but there is absolutely no chance of you forgetting Beaverbrook.
The spa décor is one of a kind, with a bold blue and orange stained-glass roof sending light shimmering onto the ceramic tiles, creating a spa atmosphere unlike any we’ve visited before.
There are also countless cosy corners for you to hunker down with your hen party and enjoy deep chats - far from wipe clean loungers, Beaverbrook is filled with plush sofas and ultra-sumptuous padded wooden chairs to while away the hours in.
- Expert Take: If you want to really treat the nearly-wed, this is hen do spa weekend to book. The grounds of Beaverbrook are every bit as incredible as the spa itself, and if you want more than a spa day complete with treatment, book your visit to coincide with one of the spa’s special events, be it a Wim Hof sessions for the brave hen parties, or a full moon circle for spiritual gals.
- Facilities: As well as an amazing heated outdoor pool (we braved it in January and even then it was gorgeous and warm), there’s a serene indoor pool and a thermal suite with a sauna, steam room and jacuzzi.
- Pricing: Spa days start at £275.
For a Cotswolds Escape: Calcot Spa, Tetbury
Nestled in the heart of the Cotswolds, Calcot Manor’s recently renovated spa is a heaven of tranquillity. We visited in the depths of winter, and the hotel had roaring fires in every corner, and the outdoor jacuzzi, set among charming Cotswold stone, was all-the-more inviting.
April 2024 saw the blissful bolthole add a new spa lounge and café, plus a fresh treatment space, with more emphasis than ever put on creating an holistic, mindful experience for visitors needing to unwind. There are even wellbeing talks on offer for visitors, with sessions by the likes of tapping expert Poppy Delbridge on the agenda.
- Expert Take: Peace and relaxation are at the heart of Calcot’s offering, so we’d recommend this spa for smaller spa hen dos - three people or less, to keep it serene in the small spaces. If you’re visiting the Cotswolds on your hen, this spa should definitely make up at least one day of the itinerary.
- Facilities: The fireside hot tub is hard to tear yourself away from, but there’s also a sauna, steam room, relaxation room and an indoor swimming pool, alongside seven soothing treatment rooms.
- Pricing: From £105
For City Break Spa Hen Dos: Thermae Bath Spa, Bath
Right in the centre of Bath, no hen do in this South West city is complete without a visit to this spa’s open air rooftop pool and endless steam rooms.
The central location of this spa, opposite the city’s Roman baths, for the history buffs among you, makes it perfect for city hen weekends as you can pop in for a few hours before getting back to your city break, be it sightseeing, sipping cocktails or swaying the night away in Bath’s bars.
It’s not the most tranquil of spas as it can get quite busy, so it’s an ideal spot if you and your squad like to chat without worrying about disturbing other spa-goers.
- Expert Take: For privacy, hire the spa’s private space, The Cross Bath, which is separate from the main area and can host up to 10 people. If you opt to visit the main spa, book the twilight session to watch the sun go down over the city from the rooftop pool. We’ve seen more than a few proposals take place in the ultra-romantic spot.
- Facilities: As well as the iconic rooftop pool, the spa offers two opulent steam rooms, an infrared sauna, an ice chamber, a twinkling celestial relaxation room and experience showers. Treatment rooms can be booked to, for massages and more.
- Pricing: From £41
For Winter Spa Hen Dos: Moddershall Oaks, Staffordshire
This secluded spa is almost overwhelming in its charm, with no sound for miles around save for the singing of birds. The rolling Staffordshire hills make the perfect backdrop for a laidback spa hen weekend.
The giant outdoor hot tub, complete with fire and oak beams that look like they belong in Lapland, is ideally for sipping prosecco in, while the sauna looks out onto the outside world, meaning it doesn’t feel claustrophobic at all.
While the outside of this spa is show-stopping, the inside is lovely too, with pretty lighting sparkling above the indoor jacuzzi and soothing relaxation rooms, this is a dream spot to forget your troubles in.
The spa is small, which we loved because it felt like we owned the place when we visited - can you tell we’re smitten with Moddershall Oaks?
- Expert Take: Visit during winter to experience the outdoor areas in all their glory. When we went, it was bedecked in twinkling fairy lights, with the outdoor fire roaring, for a super cosy experience. This is one spa we’d love to take our mum to for a spa hen weekend.
- Facilities: A sauna, steam room, outdoor hot tub, treatment rooms and heated stone beds make up this small but perfectly formed spa
- Pricing: From £85 per person.

Any wedding worries will melt away, creating the perfect spa hen do.
The sauna is made of glass and is in the centre of the space, set deep into the floor like an amphitheatre, with music piped in to help you relax, while the jacuzzi bubbles are just the right pressure to soothe weary muscles, tired from dancing the night before…
- Expert Take: Right in the centre of London, seconds away from the Southbank, this is the ultimate destination to relax and recuperate after pounding the capital’s pavements.
- Facilities: Among the fanciest spas we’ve ever been to, The Corinthia’s offering boasts a swimming pool, a stainless steel vitality pool, a glass-walled sauna and a steam room, as well as cosy sleep pods to rest in post-treatment.

The wooden walled sauna is perched on the edge of the cliff, offering unspoilt views of the incredible landscape.
- Expert Take: If you’re feeling brave, take a dip in the outdoor pool and embrace the trend for cold water swimming - we guarantee you’ll feel invigorated, plus the sauna is right there for you to dive into to warm up.
- Facilities: The Scarlett’s relaxation room is second to none, with suspended swinging tents to retreat to post-treatment while you look out over the stormy sea. Other facilities include an inviting steam room, a sparkling swimming pool and the sensational clifftop hot tubs, while the treatment rooms are like stepping into an Arabian dream, with tent-like spaces decked out with atmospheric fairy lights.
- Pricing: From £170pp
For Influencer-Approved Luxury: The Spa at Carden, Cheshire
Cheshire’s Carden Park is perfect for a hen party spa day, with its endless outdoor hot tubs and a sprawling spa garden complete with spacious outdoor hot tubs, panoramic sauna and a Champagne bar, it’s a little slice of Ibiza in the north of England - it even has influencer Molly-Mae’s seal of approval.
The garden plays host to private pods for you and your besties to hole up in for lunch or a cocktail, and there are so many jacuzzis to choose from and steam rooms to relax in it never feels crowded.
- Expert Take: Make a night of it and extend your hen do spa day into an overnight stay at the hotel - book into the restaurant for a meal prepared by King Charles’ former chef. If it’s good enough for royalty…
- Facilities: Outdoor jacuzzis and saunas, steam rooms and an indoor pool, plus a sensory room and a Bollinger Champagne bar - swanky!
- Pricing: From £95
For Total Wilderness: Armathwaite Hall, Lake District
In the heart of the Lake District, Armathwaite Hall offers unparalleled access to nature, set right in the heart of a forest. While the spa itself is small, it’s the ideal spa hen do location if you want to get stuck into activities such as cold water swimming and forest bathing - they even offer scream therapy, if you need to let off some wedding planning steam!
- Expert Take: We booked in for Forest Bathing and loved spending the afternoon exploring the forest on the spa’s grounds and getting closer to nature - not to mention warming back up in the thermal suite, which was the perfect antidote to the chilly time spent outside!
- Facilities: Nature is the focal point at this spa, with infinity edge pool, outdoor hot tub with views of the surrounding woodland and a thermal suite.
- Pricing: From £55
For Feeling Spoilt: Dormy House
Dormy House sits on the Farncombe Estate, with sister property The Fish just down the hill. You can only visit the spa if you’re a resident at Dormy House, so it feels super exclusive.
The outdoor hydrotherapy pool is the highlight, nestled among Cotswold stone walls with a fire roaring alongside it, making it the perfect place to sit back and relax. The infinity pool is inviting too, while the thermal suite blends hot and cold environments to liven up your senses after a few hours of lounging with a book.
- Expert Take: This is the perfect spot for an exclusive spa hen do of one or two friends; it feels quiet and larger groups could disturb the peace. Try the Wave Touch Massage treatment for a truly unique experience, which sees warm water jets massage the body from head to toe, while you float almost weightlessly on the bed. The water activates deep into the tissues, loosening muscles and relieving tension.
- Facilities: Outdoor hydrotherapy pool, infinity swimming pool, thermal suite with snow shower, steam room and Himalayan salt sauna, plus several treatment rooms.
- Pricing: From £110
