Short Legs Dog Care is a Cheltenham, Gloucestershire-based company offering something different with wedding day dog care and walking. Owner Christine Fowler has owned and loved dogs all her life. She set up this business to allow her clients to share their special day with all of their loved ones, including their furry friends. Chris is a gentle and kind soul who treats every dog as if they were her own, assisting with photoshoots, dog walking and sitting at the event.
Services Offered
Short Legs Dog Care work alongside wedding venues to ensure that couples get to experience the joy of bringing their four-legged friends along to their big day. A range of services are offered to make sure that your dog is cared for while you are enjoying your wedding event. These services include but are not limited to:
- A pre-wedding meeting to discuss your timeline of the event
- Collection of your dog on the day of your event
- Ensuring your pet is present at the ceremony, reception and for photos
- Feeding, walking and playing with your pet before and after the ceremony
- Looking after your dog at your accommodation

Incredible!
Chris was recommended to us by our venue, and from our first meeting via a Zoom call we knew we had made the right choice. She helped put all of our worries at ease regarding involving our dog in our special day, was professional, caring, and knowledgeable, looked after him like he was her own, and was instrumental in him being the ringbearer during the ceremony. We cannot thank you enough for all of your help.

The best dog chaperone for your wedding!
We are so happy we booked with Short legs dog care for our wedding day. We really wanted to include our dog in our special day to share photos with us and we’re so happy to have found Short legs dog care.
Chris was amazing throughout from calls, picking up our dog from the hotel we were staying at, boarding him at her house and bringing him to our venue.
He had the best time and couldn’t recommend this supplier more for your big day!! Thank you

The BEST dog chaperone in the Cotswolds!
We cannot express how grateful we are to Chris for looking after Poppy on our big day. We couldn't have asked for anyone better. Chris was excellent from start to finish; pre-communication was great, we were fully informed of the process and pricing from the start, and Chris kindly arranged to meet Poppy beforehand to make sure we were comfortable with everything.
On the day itself, Chris generously picked Poppy up from a family home and later took her to the venue, which took the transport hassle away from us (she also dropped Poppy back off after the wedding)! During the ceremony, Chris seamlessly blended in with the guests and made the entire experience totally stress free for us! Everyone loved having Poppy there, which wouldn't have been possible without you Chris, so THANK YOU!
We wholeheartedly recommend Short Legs to anyone looking for a dog chaperone for their wedding. If you want your furry friend to celebrate your big day with you, and if you want to ensure they are in the best possible hands, then Short Legs is the way to go.

Your dog's new best friend!
We cannot thank Chris from Short Legs Dog Care enough for the exceptional care she provided for our dogs, Pippin and Gruff, on our wedding day. Pippin and Gruff aren't usually fond of new people, but Chris is truly a dog whisperer. They quickly became best friends, which put us at ease knowing our fur babies were in such capable hands.
Chris went above and beyond, helping us include Pippin and Gruff in our ceremony. Despite an unexpected downpour that disrupted our schedule, Chris ensured the dogs were brought down for photos at the reception, capturing beautiful moments we will cherish forever.

Highly recommend
Chris looked after our two senior dogs during our wedding day and we couldn’t have made a better decision. Both of them were looked after so well, and it gave us total peace of mind that they were happy and safe during the day & evening.

Exceptional service and super friendly
We felt very at ease knowing our greyhound Poppy was in good hands. On the wedding day Chris kept our very anxious dog relaxed and happy and Poppy performed perfectly when it came to walking the rings down the aisle. I would highly highly recommend Chris if you’re considering a dog chaperone for your wedding day. Can’t thank her enough.

The best dog chaperone for Stone Barn
Chris made our wedding unforgettable by ensuring our Buddy was an integral part of the celebration. Her personalized and professional service, coupled with a genuine love for animals, impressed us from the start. Can't thank Chris enough for looking after our Labrador Harper on our big day! Everything from booking to the day itself ran smoothly and it was fantastic to see how happy and relaxed Harper was with Chris. Reliable and assured your dog is in good hands !
Booking Chris to look after our dog Bentley on our wedding day was the best decision. We did not have to worry about him at all and logistically Chris was fabulous! Bentley was awaiting his big moment with Chris before walking down the aisle and afterwards joined us for photos and our wedding reception before Chris took him back to her home. She also collected him and dropped him where he needed to be! She was fabulous and extremely reliable. I have recommended to all my friends with dogs who are getting married!

Couldn't recommend enough!
Where do we start! We cannot thank Chris enough for looking after our two dogs during our big day.
She was super flexible and cared for our dogs as if they where her own!
You could tell instantly that our dogs felt safe with Chris, and we didn't have to worry about them for one second as we knew they where in safe hands!
Her communication throughout was amazing and we have been recommending her to all our fellow dog parents!

Amazing care for our ring bearer !!
Short legs were amazing from start to finish. We had a zoom call with Trish a few weeks before the wedding and introduced her to Rico, we talked her through a rough plan of the day and she suggested timings that fit perfectly with our schedule. Rico LOVEEEED her immediately, and we were kept up to date with pictures of him before she returned for the ceremony. Rico was our ring bearer and Trish handled this brilliantly, it went without a hitch. We really appreciated how flexible she was with our plan for the day, and Rico ended the day happy (and exhausted!). We were initially weren't sure if we needed someone on the big day, and thought maybe friends could look after him, but having a designated carer for the dog on the day makes everything so much easier with everything else going on. Can't recommend more highly!

Amazing service!
We can’t thanks Chris enough for looking after our Milo on our big day. It was amazing to have him there with us and having Chris took the stress away for us and our guests. Communication was fab as Chris was always responsive. Milo also spent the night with Chris to allow us the freedom to enjoy the whole wedding!

Fantastic!!
We found Chris through our recommended suppliers from our venue. She was so responsive and helpful in the build up to the wedding, making sure we didn’t have to worry about penny. Chris arrived with penny at the perfect time ready for our confetti walk and photos. She blended in perfectly and looked like a guest. Penny was so well looked after and chris was amazing the whole day! I would recommend Chris to anyone looking for dog care during their wedding!

Best decision, worth every penny!
We found Chris through our venues recommended suppliers and we are so glad we did, what a find ! Chris looked after Barney during the day of our wedding and had him into the evening with Barney being dropped back off to the venue the day after. She was absolutely fantastic with Barney and he felt so comfortable with her, which is how we knew we had made the right choice!!! It enabled us to relax knowing he was well looked after and also involved in our wedding as this was very important to us! Chris helped out with our wedding photos and managed to get Barney looking at the camera. I absolutley recommend Chris, she is clearly an animal lover and looks after your dog as if they are her own. Thank you Chris.

Best Decision of our Wedding Day
Christine at Short Legs Dog Care was the ultimate professional when it came to being our Dog Chaperone for our Wedding day. Christine ensured our 2 year old Golden Retriever Riley was walked and thoroughly exercised before his starring moment as our ring bearer - which ensured he was not over-excited, all the extra energy had been expended and Riley executed his task brilliantly, and stole the show! Chris then took charge and ensured Riley was looked after for the entire duration of our day - putting our minds at rest, ensuring both ourselves and our guest were free to enjoy ourselves. Riley was completely at home with her, and trusted her implicitly, it was a joy to witness, and many of our guests commented on how well our dog was behaved. We whole heartedly recommend Christine as a trusted companion for your four legged family, it's a wonderful experience to have your dogs with you on your Wedding day - the photos with our Golden Retriever Riley, and the footage of him walking down the isle are some of our most precious memories. Christine is well worth the price tag.
