I would like to thank you all for coming here today to join in celebrating the union of two of the loviest people I know Titi and Muyo.

I know from talking to most you that the last couple of days have been amazing, however when they told me it was going to be a destination wedding I kind of panicked.

Whilst some of you would smile at the idea of going to the Caribbeans or Thailand for a wedding, that thought scared me.

I know I might look big and macho, you can obviously ignore the kilt/skirt I am wearing.  I shamelessly admit I am a big woos when it comes to flying.  

So thank you for choosing Tuscany.

On that note I would like to the almighty God, the lovely bride Titi's, the owoyemi and Titi families for making this event possible.

I purposely did not thank you Muyo bcos I am sure your contribution to the planning of this wedding is as significant as Fergie's love for Man City.  However thanks for the honour of making me the guy who has had to stare at all the drinks on the table and cant touch because I have to sound coherent to give this speech.  I still to this day believe you only chose me because you were hoping to have someone of similar size to you, to try and underemphasize your generous bulk.  BTW I think I am allowed to poke fun at muyos weight because I am apparently classed as overweight.

So muyo I apologise I have been keeping active lately and staying away from those late night carb binges and unfortunately you are still on that track. The scariest thing is that Titi is such a great cook so I think we should watch this space around muyo whilst it's still there.

I have known muyo for the last 18 years right from when he was still proper skinny and he could still see his belt. He came to KC from home science with bobola, obasco and adesanya. they were just like the 4 musketeers organized parties together and all that kind of stuff.  Muyo and I were friends but not as close as we are now. My impression of him was not too favorable at the time because he was that in that annoying group of students who could lead you astray with partying but when exams came he would always get high grades whilst the rest of us would do enough just to keep the parents happy.  I detested that.  

I always think it is one of the great gifts of life is to be able to watch our friends and loved ones grow old with us.  I remember those days when we all first arrived to the UK and muyo is in his typical style was leading some of the Poor students at Imperial college astray – with his night club promotions under the name Ball 2U fall.

At the same time this fella was also gaining a 1st class degree in Bio chemical EngineerING at Imperial college.  It is amazing how you have changed so much, when you go to a bar/club with muyo now he is always the guys who just sits down by himslef and be mr negative saying this is long abeg lets go home.  As long as you can entice him with stopping for some shawama off edgware road that is your best otpion.

I think what brought on this new muyo apart from age was being stuck on oil rig off the coast of Aberdeen for 34 weeks in a year. thats enough to change any man.

Since I have gotten married one thing I have started to notice is that my friends who meat miss right always bring them round to my house, to impress the girl look at my old responsible friend with his wife and kid – this is what I want for us.

As soon as Muyo told me he wanted to bring his new girlriend to my house, i knew straight away that he had found his life time partner.

I am sure that married people who met by coincidence are firm believers in fate and destiny and all that kind of stuff- well its a wedding so i can admit I belive it in.  Across most continents we all complain about the rain but without the rain we would not be here, No I am not reffering to the great flood.  Basically on a humid, pretty sure a warm night in lagos, Muyo went for a quiet drink with his very good friend.  They happendd to gate crash a ladys night at otto club.  The event finihsed and Titi was due to leave but thankfully the rain kept putt her off.  now the old romantics would call it fate, so doi I.

they are a perfenct case of a couple who compliment each other perfectly.  I have never seen muyo this happy with anyone as he is with Titi and knowing how much of a cynic he is – he must 200% sure about his feelings for Titi otherwise we would not be here
