Good afternoon, my name is [my first and last]. [groom's name] has been a good friend of mine for the last [number] years. During this time, I have always known him as a kind, hardworking, responsible, and joyful person. I have met [bride's name] and heard much about her it is obvious that she is a very good match for [groom's name].

It is an honor to be here with so many wonderful guests at this joyful wedding. Everyone, especially the bride, looks very beautiful today.

As the best man it is my job to ensure that the groom arrives safely:

He must be punctual.

He must not drink alcohol.

He must wear the right suit, shirt, socks, and shoes.

He must brush his teeth, comb his hair.

He must bring the wedding ring.

And most importantly, he must turn off his cell phone.

This is a great responsibility for me, which required all my attention. That is why I am now standing here in front of you wearing the wrong suit, the wrong shoes, and with messy hair.

Your relationship will be the foundation for your life together.

Just as strength comes from training, skill comes from practice, wisdom comes from learning, and good snowboarding comes from falling, a good marriage requires constant effort.

You must both give and must not expect.

Your personal dreams should be pursued but only if they equally serve your marriage and family.

You do not have to agree with, or understand everything about your partner, but you must agree to have and maintain a strong relationship for as long as you live. With love, honor, the right effort, and the right restraint you will achieve this. From everything I know about both of you, you will be successful.
