Hi everyone, to those of you who don't know me, my name is Dan and I'm the groom's best man/brother. Best man…That has a nice ring to it. Steve, are you sure you wanted me to carry this torch? Last chance!

Just so everybody knows, I've spent countless hours looking through best man speeches and trying to figure out how to best deliver this speech. The main thing I discovered is that these speeches tend to last about 3-5 minutes. I won't be doing that.

I would like to start off by saying a big “thank you” to the bridesmaids…as you will all agree they have done a marvelous job and all look fantastic…

I would say they are only eclipsed by Katelyn herself, who I'm sure you'll agree looks absolutely stunning.

I would also like to thank the groomsmen for showing up sober…thanks guys!

Last but not least, I'd like to thank Katelyn's grandparents for being so supportive of Stephen and Katelyn. Matt, you did a great job giving away the bride.

So Steve and Katelyn you finally got married, for better or for worse…for better or for worse, I'd say that's quite appropriate considering Steve couldn't have done any better and Katelyn couldn't have done any worse.

I'd like to share a number with you. That number is seven, and the reason this number is so important is because this is how long it took these two to finally get married. Yes folks, we finally made it. You do know that it took you longer to get married than it took Michelangelo to paint the Sistine chapel. Just thought you might like to know that.

Katelyn, If my mother had ever had a daughter, I can tell you right now that nobody would have fit the mold better than you. I am glad to consider you my new sister! And the bonus is that you will always look better in a dress than Stephen ever will.

Dad would have been so proud of the man you have become, and he couldn't have been more proud of the EXTRAORDINARY woman you have chosen to spend the rest of your life with. Our father would have loved everything about Katelyn. Dad would have loved her almost as much as Pat did.

All jokes aside, I am blessed to have both of you in my life and I wish you nothing but the best health, happiness and good fortune from this day forth.
