Good evening ladies and gentlemen !
Now seeing that this is my first time
at being a best man, I have asked Susanne for some help on how long my speech should last……and her response was……

"Aslong as it takes Willy to perform his
Manly duties in bed!!!" So thank you…(hand gesture) and Goodnight!
If only I was joking !!!

Now seriously I do have to a few specific jobs to do today , this of course being one of them, and of course the earlier one of making sure Willy got here on TIME !!! Not an easy task at all!
Dragging him away from that mirror ….man that was hard.

Though I have to admit now that Willys here im quite impressed how smartly dressed he is …..…
though I am disappointed that he decided to copy my outfit !

Now another duty I have to do today is to make sure that certain people are thanked for their part in today, so without delay , I would like to take some time to thank a couple of people, who on the face of it have a fairly easy day.

They have had to cope with all of the difficulties of standing around , pouting ….& looking pretty, they've spent a lot of time in their make up & outfits, and withouit them, the day just wouldnt have run as smoothly, so ladies and gentlemen,

Now to a few better parts of my duties for the day, I GET to thank the Bridesmaids ! Now I know that Susanne has already given you something to say thanks, and Willy has also said thank you as well.

However I would like to add to this by saying what a great job you have done getting Susanne through today, and that I think that you both look very beautiful today.

But I would also like to thank everyone here today for being involved in what I think we will all agree has been a wonderful day, and has really gotten Willy and Susannes marraige off to the perfect start !

I think that you would also all agree that the wedding has been beautifully planned by Susanne and her helpers, and everythimg has seemed to work out fantastically……even with Willys very last minute phone calls for wedding rehearsels and suit fittings !!

Now its time to thank both sets of parents here today.To JOROBBIE and Mum( ), you are two of the best people I know, and Im happy to say that its been an honour to know you both, and its been your loving and lots of understanding that have shaped willy into the man he is today !

…….and to Susannes parents…..25 years ago you were sending her off to bed with a dummy….now your doing it again.

Now with the formalitys almost done its time to start ripping into Willy witrh some embarressing storys . So as part of preparation for this I have been doing some research, and it appears that me and susanne have something in common when it comes to willy !!!!!

The first time we both meet him..…
he followed us home !!!
And I can tell you it was alot more strenuious when he follwed me home !!!
(Tell brief story of trip home)
I THOUGHT HE WAS
GONNA MUG ME !!!

Though the next day he did come sit next to me in french class….…
"hey man how are you"
(act it out) …Good mate ! !!
You know….the funny thing about that it was the next day …..It took him
3 weeks to call Susanne back.

While looking back through my wealth of great storys about WillyI remember one where I meet Susanne for Willy for Brunch, now Willy was a little worse for wear after a big night on the Juice at his works prize giving.

Now this is where I asked the relatively innocent question, "Willy mate, did you win any prizes last night ?" Ohhhh……yeahhhhhh…..ummmmm..…
Yeah I got one
Oh really What was that mate ?
"Bachelor of the year!!!"
Now did I mention that Willy had only been engaged for 6 months or so by this point !!! Now this reminded me of some wises words Willy once told me when we were young……I once asked willy why he was ignoring his girlfriend and flirting with every other girl at the party !

"Now these wise words he muttered to me were" "Mate I want her to know I still have options out there……so it keeps her keen and eager !!"
YES….Are Willy WAS a player !!!

And as it goes all players must come to an end at some point an time !
So ladys ….and you know who you are, he is now a married man !!!! .and if you could please come forward and return the keys to the bachelor pad.

Now I know theres still a few more keys floating out there and if those can please be returned !! The bachelor pad is now officially closed !!!

Oh yes one final point I need to bring up …..can the owner of these please come forward and claim them !! No questions asked !

Now being serious for one moment ………Willy you have been a great friend to me over the years and hopefully you & susanne will continue to be great friends for years to come !!

I would also like to thank you for bestowing such a great honour on me by asking me to be your bestman today.
And I would like to say a few quick words ..…

Now Willy, to both you & susanne I would like to say " May your love be modern enough to survive the times…..yet old fashioned enough to last forever!"

So …..finally (get Glass in hand)
Heres to love…laughter…….& happily ever after ,as Willy and Susanne start there new life.
