Good evening ladies and gentleman and welcome to the wonderful occasion that is Ashley & Sammy's wedding. I have to say it was really nice of Ash & Sammy to dress up so nicely for it, as I'm talking my jaw is in agony after it hit the floor when Sammy walked down the aisle earlier. Sammy that is my way of saying that you look absolutely stunning and Ash you scrub up very well I'm very disappointed that you copied my outfit.

For those of you that don't know me I'm Jamie and for those that do know me keep schtum. I first met Ash 10 years ago when I started at College. I was 16 and he was 18, we met through a mutual friend and after a boy's night out a few years later, our life long and very close friendship began from there. Which leads to many stories about me and Ash, one of them being that we both had a crush on this mutual friend of ours (not at the same time I must add) but I won't go in to that because neither of us stood a chance.

If I was to sum up our boys nights out they would often involve Ash doing the famous Michael Jackson moonwalk wearing this hat of course (pass it to Ash and say you can lend mine for one night only) and break dancing but for me personally the first sign I know Ash is drunk is when he would put his arms around me and say ‘Jay I love you, I've got no siblings younger than me so for me I see you as my little brother and that why I love you man’ and then he would always give me a big wet sloppy kiss although on his stag night four weeks ago he never did it but I'm going to say no more about that because remember what goes on tour stays on tour. There have also been times I've known him to fall asleep but he does that when he's sober as well as drunk, so either he's genuinely tired or I'm just boring. I'll guess it's one of them things that I'll never know.

Ash and Sammy met at school and were then reunited 5 years ago at a party, I remember Ash saying to me back in November 2009 a month after they got together, I've met a girl called Sammy and you must meet her and then in December 2009 Sammy out of the blue sent me a friend request on facebook, so me being the nice guy that I am accepted her friend request.

I'll always remember Sammy would often pop up on chat and talk to me as though she had known me for years and all I wanted to say to her was go away, why are you talking to me I don't know you but I didn't because I'm not like that and we would often chat via facebook until we eventually met on my birthday night in April 2010. However, it wasn't until 2 weeks later that I got to know the real Sammy at another friend's birthday night which was fancy dress, Ash and Simon were the blues brothers and ironically Sammy and myself were gangster's, I kept calling Sammy my gangster's mole that night and then she started calling me her second husband and from that day onwards to this very day, I am still known to her as her second husband which has taken me 4 years to realise until today that back then I lost my big brother but I gained a wife at the same time.

Sammy straight away became very good friends with mine and Ash's friends which has made it even more pleasurable when we all get together. Ash and Sammy have recently moved into their first home together in Woodston, I've gotta say it's a lovely house but I think they'll be doing some DIY work though because Ash has told me that after today him and Sammy are going to be banging and screwing at every opportunity.

In all seriousness though, Sammy thank you for making Ash so happy, the last 4 years have been the best and as the song says things can only get better. Take with you my best mate and look after him as I know Ash will look after you the same way he's been a true friend to me in the last 10 years, this is a man who has shown me nothing but loyalty, kindness, support and encouragement which is why I truly admire him and for me to stand here talking in front of a lot of people I don't know is one of the things that good friends do for each other which is why I'm doing it for you two because you both mean so much to me and I wish you both nothing but the best for the future, you are a fantastic and well matched couple and I hope all your dreams come true and that you lead a healthy, long and happy life together.

I look forward to being a part of your lives and having you both a part of my life for many years to come. Ash you know how much I love ya, thank you so much for the proud honour of being your best man today and one day I'll be asking you to return the same honour to me and be my best man.

Just before I finish I just wanted to say if any of you are not well after eating the wedding cake then just remember that I didn't make it, it had nothing to do with me. Now it gives me immense pleasure, to invite you all to stand and raise a toast to love, laughter and a happy ever after, to Ashley & Sammy the new Mr & Mrs Sadd.
