Thanks Hitched.co.uk, Your site was a life-saver!!!! I was really worried about giving a speech at my brother's wedding and was stuck short of ideas. Good luck to any future best men out there; my advice to you is PRACTICE, PRACTICE + PRACTICE! Not that I did that much, but what I did do helped me tremendously with getting the delivery right.....without it the best jokes will same lame. Cheers! Luke Parker

Ladies and Gentlemen, Firstly, on behalf of the bridesmaids, I'd like to thank the bridegroom for his kind words. Jx, Jx, Sx and Jx do indeed look wonderful and I'm sure you'll all agree they performed their role splendidly.
You know, I had a feeling it was going to be difficult to follow a speech by my brother.… And I was quite right…I couldn't follow a single word of it!"
(PAUSE)
I'm sure you all agree with me that this has been a wonderful day. However, every silver lining has its cloud, and I'm yours. For those of you who don't know me I'm (GROOM) younger brother and best man and my name is . . . ‘Luke, can-I-buy-you-a-drink’.
(PAUSE)
Feel free to come up and talk to me later on, I'll be around the bar area.
I would like to thank you all for being here today to share in this very special occasion. As we have been eating our meal this afternoon, I have had time to look around the room at you all and have been struck by just how far people will travel for a free meal…
(PAUSE)
Now what can I say about (GROOM)? He's handsome, charming, witty, intelligent – oh sorry, wrong wedding! ( pretend to put speech away; get out another).
Normally, at this point of the proceedings, I would have to tell you all a story about (GROOM) designed to humiliate him. However, I decided to let him off and instead I thought pass on some advice to keep the marriage running smoothly. (GROOM)……..,
– Remember, marriage is more than an 8 letter word, Its a sentence, you get less for murder.
(PAUSE)
– There are 3 rings in a marriage:- The wedding ring
:- The suffer ring
:- and The endu ring
(PAUSE)
– If you buy her flowers, she knows you're guilty, and she will remember to the second the last time you bought her any.
(PAUSE)
– The best way to remember your wedding anniversary is to forget it once
(PAUSE)
– and finally, never forget these three magic words, YOUR RIGHT DEAR!

So (GROOM), I would like to say that it has been an honour and a privilege to be your brother and your best man, and to say how lucky you are to have married (BRIDE) today. You have found someone loving, funny, smart and caring and a match for you any day of the week. And (BRIDE), you have found,………., well you have found (GROOM).
Finally it gives me great pleasure to invite you all to stand and raise your glasses to (GROOM) and (BRIDE) as I am sure everyone here today would like to wish them both good health, happiness and a wonderful life together.
