Good Evening Ladies and gentlemen.

I hope everyone is enjoying this very special day so far. It's been an emotional day; even the cake was in tiers.

I was really nervous beforehand, so I prepared a few lines – and having snorted them I'm feeling pretty good right now.

I'd like to take this opportunity to say, and I'm sure that you'll all agree, that the bridesmaids look fantastic today and the bride herself looks absolutely stunning.

I'd like to say a big thank you to my assistants, the groomsmen. Now, it was actually a stipulation for the wedding that the groomsmen weren't allowed to look better than the Best Man today and I'm pleased to say they've accomplished their role admirably. Cheers guys, awesome job!

On behalf of the bridesmaids, groomsmen & myself I would like to extend a big thank you to Bobby and Rani for asking us to be involved on their unique & very special day! – now, down to business.

When I was asked to be Bobby's best man I was obviously very flattered. But then I realised I would have to give a speech, and that at some point during it I would have to say something nice about Bobby. The problem is I've had very little experience of doing either, so please bear with me.

I was actually a little worried as to how long the speech should last but the general consensus was that it should go on for about as long as it takes the groom to perform his duties in the bedroom…….

So with that in mind ladies and gentlemen, thank you very much, you've been a great crowd!! ….

For those that don't know me I am Nimz, Bobby's best friend and best man. For those that do know me, well….… I apologise.

First of all can I thank all that made it here today……especially those that knew I would be doing speech a tonight! Its touching that you still decided to come.

Can I also thank aunty ji, and our Rani bhabis parents who made this evening possible, as without their blessing, all this would not have happened.

Last but certainly not least, I would like to thank Rani. Obviously the focus of everyone's attention today, who I'm sure you'll agree is as graceful and beautiful as an angel… Rani Bhabi ji, you look like one in a million. Bobby, you on the other hand look like you were won in a raffle!

Of course, there's no doubt that marriage is a wonderful thing. It's supposed to be pure and simple, and that's what we have today. Rani is pure, and Bobby is… well a nice guy.

Now I'm probably in a better position than most, to pay tribute to the groom…..

After all, he's been like a brother to me…

Our history goes way past the time that we were born……our grandparents were from the same pind in India, aunty ji and my father were also from the same pind…..the world renowned SARHALA RANUAN!!!! (Obviously not so renowned)

Aunty ji and my father lived their own lives, moved to England and had children, and bobby and I ended up going to the same primary school, high school, college. He was at my wedding two years ago doing a speech (my beautiful wife is just across the hall there……give us a wave babe) and here I am at his wedding doing one for him. So our connection stretches way beyond just being school mates.

Bobby was born on 2nd December 1987……..

I wanted to link his birthdate to some major world event, but it seems that nothing of importance happened that day… although the staff from the hospital still refers to that day as “Ugly Wednesday”,

Bobby………..Bobby Mann. You now have a beautiful and talented partner for life. Someone to share the highs and bring comfort during the lows. A person who will make each day worth living and be the source of many wonderful memories for years to come.

And Rani, you now have … a really nice ring.

Rani you deserve a man who is your equal. A man who is always there for you and a man who cares for you like no other can. A man who will love you, protect you and encourage you. A true soul mate without whom life would not be the same. Luckily for Bobby he has married you before you had the chance to meet this perfect man.

Seriously though, Bobby you're the best friend anyone could wish for and how much you mean to us is really impossible to put into words – though taz is pretty close (barca crew know what I mean). The whole family is proud of you, and we're all thrilled to see you marrying your beautiful bride Rani today.

If you're half as good a husband as you are a brother …… then you're both are in for a lifetime of fun, laughter, and happiness.

It now gives me immense pleasure to invite you all to stand and raise your glasses in a toast to the New Mr & Mrs Mann
