Hello, well obviously I'm Marks best man..…

..but for those of you who don't know me, my name's Paul…but ladies, you can call me tiger!

One of the few serious bits in the traditional best man's speech is where he thanks the groom on behalf of the bridesmaids…..which I never really understood as there are more of them and they're on the opposite team!

No, but really, thanks to Mark for his kind words and I think everyone in the room will agree with me that Ally and Yvonne look stunning and that they did an excellent job today.

I've known Mark now for about 100 years now, which takes us back to around 1990….and since the day we met we I have always been aware that he is…well, a bit odd!

At the age of 17 most lads are out chasing girls or racing about in their parents cars…Mark on the other hand seemed to spend a large part of his formative years breaking things; bones, cars, computers…ahh computers, one of Marks four great loves…..the others being Lesley, beer and food, although not necessarily in that order, after all his idea of a balanced diet is a big Mac in either hand, and when asked about coq-au-vin he thought it meant sex in a lorry.

Anyway, back to computers…Mark would often take apart a computer that wasn't quite working right, and TOTALLY break it. He'd then ring round for advice, but 9 times out of ten you could just through it into the bin.

Not one to be discouraged Mark decided that amateur destruction wasn't enough and he went to university to get a degree in Software engineering. And now with all that higher education, if you have a computer that isn't quite working right, just drop it into Mark and he'll break it professionally.

Years ago it would have taken him hours to break something, but now it's all done in a couple of minutes. And I'm sure Lesley knows all about THAT!

Mark and Lesley's love still seems so pure and simple, Lesley so pure, Mark so simple. Mark has indeed found someone special and in all seriousness I can say that there are not many best men who can describe the bride as a true friend as well as the groom, but I'm lucky I can do just that. It's an honor, albeit the most terrifying experience of my life to be the best man here today and it gives me great pleasure to ask you to stand and raise your glasses in a toast to Mark & Lesley….… We wish them well for the future, and hope they enjoy a long, happy and fruitful marriage. To Mark & Lesley.
