Ladies and gentlemen, family and friends, I'd like to welcome you all to Graeme and Alisons wedding. First of all I'd like to say a big thank you on behalf of [Bride & Groom] to all of you who have made it here today. And sharing their special day. I know they really appreciate you being here, especially those of you who have had to travel long distances to be here.

I hope your all enjoying the day as much as I am up until 30seconds ago, Anyway

For those of you who don't know me, I'm graemes older brother and my names is philip and in case if you haven't already worked out I'm the best man

For those of you who think this is'nt nerve wrecking let me put it this way believe me if you can imagine saddeam Hussein going on holiday to America this will give you an idea how comfortable I feel.

It is a tremendous honour and a privilege to be Graemes best man today.

This is my first time as a best man
…and I suspect that after today's performance gets out …
……..It will also be my last…

My first duty is to say some thank yous

I would like to start by thanking Graeme on behalf of the bridesmaids for his kind comments and echo the fact that they look wonderful and they did a great job today along with the flowergirls Clare and Sarah

The Ushers Brian and David for there help during the day and special thanks must go to Jim and Margaret Alisons mum.

Now I know sometimes there can be a little healthy rivalry between the bridesmaids In fact, just before the service I overheard a furious argument about who was going to be first to dance with the best man. Hey Understandable, I thought – until I got closer and heard donella and Karen saying, no way I'm not dancing with him you can !

Now when graeme asked me to be best man yeah no problem I thought it would be an honour a privilege. It was only later on when I spent a considerable amount of time sitting on the toilet that it really sunk in.

As this is my first experience off being bestman Graeme and Alison said do your own thing but make sure of Four main important tasks

Task One

Make sure Graeme gets a good nights sleep, so I asked graeme the morning did he sleep well ?And he told me like a baby, so I can only assume he woke up every two hours crying for his mummy

Task Two

Make sure graeme is properly dressed and respectable well believe me it took a while but he tidied up quite well do you agree.

Task three

Graeme at all costs must be at the church on time ? Well we all know I managed and everything went according to plan

Task Four

The fourth and most important task is the dreaded character assination , but I have to confess graeme pleaded with me not to embarrass him too much so after a sneak preview of my original speech a financial package was hastily arranged..

So what can I tell you about Graeme he good-looking he is kind no you don't want to hear all that.

But to be honest he is the Brains of the Taylor family he is the one with the engineering degree and if anyone's ever seen the picture in my mums house yes that is Graeme with the batman cape and funny square hat on his head.

But after doing a little digging around I found out graeme isn't the brainbox afterall.

Geography

Graeme is a willing student but during a recent examination, One question stated where is the English channel located Graemes answer on the TV after the Disney channel.

Maths

Whilst often an enthusiatic pupil I feel Graeme is a lost cause Graeme is adament a square foot is a person with a physcial deformity

Religious Education
A satisfactorys years work although Graeme understanding is limited, so much that he still believes the book of Genesis was written by Phil Collins.

Biology

Whilst Graeme is often enthusiastic he took it a little too far by revising for his blood test

Now one subject Graeme did succeed in was his music class. Those of you who know Graeme well understand his first love is of course Alison and the second is his musical instruments guitar, keyboard etc. When we where younger he had this violin now Graeme was that good he could play this instrument like a squeaking door opening and closing note for note.

So when Graeme got older he had an unsuccessful solo career in his bedroom playing cover versions on his guitar. After this stint he joined a rock group and the peak of his musical career was the gig in my parents Garage .Now one day I couldn't believe the crowds that had gathered outside my mums house to see these guys in action I thought these boys are on there way to the big time.

Everything was going through my head I could be tour manager roadie whatever.

It was only later on I discovered it was the neighbours up in arms giving off about the racket.

Anyhow Graeme may not have found stardom but he has definitely found a star in Alison she looking stunning today and in the years I have known Alison

I have personally found her to always be happy and full of life she is a wonderful lady who deserves a great husband in graeme

So it gives me great pleasure and relief if you will join me in wishing them all the very best for the future, so can I ask you to stand and raise your glasses in a toast to graeme and Alison the bride and groom
