Good Afternoon Ladies and gentlemen, a quick introduction for those of you who don't know me my name is Steve

I would like to start by thanking Anth on behalf of myself the lovely bridesmaid & the ushers for his kind words & gifts

I would also like to add to the thanks to Anthony & Helens Parents for all their help in making this day all that Anth & Helen could have wanted. And especially to Anthony's Dad David & Helens Dad Jimmy for their speeches

And Lastly I would also like to thank all of you on behalf of Anth and Helen for being here to witness their special day and thank you for all the gifts you have brought with you.

I must say I struggled to decide what to get, I wanted to give Anth something useful something he could use on a daily bases and something he genuinely needed, but it's such a struggle to figure out how to wrap a bath so I decided on something else instead.

I have known both Anthony & Helen for the best part of around 9 years, so when Anthony asked me to be his best man I thought it was a huge honour

in all honesty I am more than little nervous to be doing this so I decided it would be a good idea to start by preparing a few lines…

And I must saying having snorted them I now feel fine….

For those of you who are expecting outrageous stories about Anthonys past, the truth is I was with him for most of them but I would not want to ruin my impeccable reputation

Instead I thought I would try and find out some interesting events that happened the day Anth was born,

he was born on the 30th June which was a Wednesday number one in the charts was captain sensible with happy talk,  

I tried to link Anths birth date to some major world event, but it seems nothing else happened that day. Although the hospital staff still refer to that days as “monkey birth Wednesday”

 Now I am not saying Anthony was an ugly baby but his mother didn't have morning sickness until after she gave birth

With being a best man I new this job would carry certain responsibilities, so to find out what these were turned to the internet for help.

I found out that I would be responsible for making sure Anth looked smart, presentable & handsome. Unfortunately, I did try my best but I'm no magician

 I also had to make sure no ex-girlfriends showed up to spoil the ceremony. Thankfully this wasn't a problem as the outbreak of foot and mouth a few years ago saw most of them quarantined, shot and burned.

Myself and Anth met through a mutual friend and the majority the time we have spent together has been on nights out, weekends away and going to the football. I feel at this point that it's my duty as best man to offer a small piece of marital advice to Anth.

 So here goes the key to a successful marriage can be compared to football.

1 – Ensure you're fully committed every week 2 – Make sure you score every Saturday 3 – Make sure you change ends at half time 4 – Don't put your tackle in too hard or you might injure yourself  5 – No tackling from behind…especially on your wedding night.

Finally there seems to be abit of confusion for were Anth & Helen are going on their Honeymoon, I thought there were off to Kenya but now I am not so sure, after speaking with anth last night I now think they are going to North Wales.  

Or at least I think that's what he ment when he said he was going to Bangor all week……………………………………………………………………………………

Seriously though Anth you have been a great friend to me over the years and it has been a great honour being your best man today, I hope our friendship lasts for many years to come. I also want to personally wish you both all the happiness in the world for your future together

 On behalf of the bride & groom I would like to once again thank everyone here for sharing their very special day and a massive thank you to everyone who has contributed and made this such a wonderful occasion.

 so ladies & gentleman it gives me immense pleasure and not mention relief to invite you all to be upstanding & join me in a toast to the bride & groom, Anthony & Helen.
