You may well be wondering what the Bride is doing making a speech. Well, those of you who know me well, know that I always have talked a lot (& loudly!) and usually find a way to get my two penneth worth in so it probably is no surprise! I also wanted to say thank you to those deserving in my own words.
I feel privileged to be sharing our day with most of the friends and family who have been important to us during our lives. Many of you have travelled from a far :- America, Ireland, Switzerland, Spain and even Wales & Yorkshire to be here. Thanks to all of you for the efforts and sacrifices you have made to be with us today.
To Carol and John, thank you for making me feel so welcome in the Tadman family. Thank you for raising Steve so well, although I understand that the warranty is out of date now and the refund deadline has long since passed. I might keep him for a while though as he has so many qualities, charm, brains and beauty are sadly the only ones missing.… and thank you also for the generous financial contribution that meant we could have a honeymoon we really wanted.
Mum – thank you for your love, support and care over the last 29 years and also for your contributions to making this such a special day.
Steve, thank you for biting the bullet, proposing and turning up today, on time and appropriately dressed. You are the love of my life, my best friend and now my husband. I don't think anybody could be happier than I am today, and I can't wait for us to share the rest of our lives together. It means a lot to be your wife & I'm sure you're happy now that you can start to let yourself go
Finally, I have some small gifts for my beautiful bridesmaids – Kath, Liz and Corinne. It's been wonderful having you all here today – I'm sure your presence has enhanced the photos no end! But seriously – thank you.
And now, I'd like you all to stand and raise your glasses in a toast to the bridesmaids…..
