Good afternoon everyone
Speechmaking is not something I would normally look forward to, but today is a happy exception.
As father of the Bride, it is my privilege to make the first speech.
I would like to start, by welcoming Chris and Lynn, the rest of Dave's family, our family, and the friends of both, to this very special occasion, it's a pleasure to see you all.
It seems like just the other day Rachel was born, and now here I am giving the Father of the Bride speech.
Gill and I are very proud of Rachel and pleased to see her looking so beautiful and happy today.
She is a very caring and loving person and has always brightened our lives.
I must therefore congratulate Dave on his perception as we welcome him into our family.
During the time we have known Dave we have come to realize how special he is to Rachel and any one can see that they are made for each other.
Now I know how much Dave has been looking forward to giving his speech.
So now, ladies and gentlemen, please raise your glasses to the bride and groom and wish Rachel and Dave all the happiness in the world.
