Good Afternoon Ladies and Gents
I would like to begin by welcoming you all, and thank you for coming to this very special occasion to celebrate the marriage of my daughter Kirsty to Matt. I'd also like to thank everyone who has helped in the lead up to the wedding in whatever way possible big or small, you've all played your part to make the day special.
Time flies by so quickly, it doesn't seem that long ago since Kirsty was born, and here I am today speaking or trying toast her wedding. Kirsty is a wonderful daughter she is a very caring person and has given us so much joy and happiness over the years even despite her expensive tastes in everything! She is a perfect young lady who I am proud to be my daughter and I'm sure Matt will also be proud to call his wife.
Every father knows that one day his daughter will find a partner, fly the nest, and get married. Every father also wishes his daughter the best of luck and worries about her finding the right man, one that will make her happy, cherish, and look after her for ever.
During the time we have known Matt, we have come to realise how special he is to Kirsty, and how much of a kind, caring, pleasant and genuine nice man he is, and what a great son in law he will be. We honestly believe Kirsty could not have met a nicer man. Julie and Brian, your son Matt is an absolute credit to you both. They are both so happy together and are a perfect match. In the future, we so look forward to the day when we hear the patter of tiny feet! It gives us and I'm sure Julie and Brian as well as other family and friends something very much to look forward to.
I cannot stress enough how I am the proudest man in the world today, seeing your daughter looking so happy and radiant is truly amazing.
Kirsty and Matt I know you will have a great life together and be very happy. You are amongst people today who care and love you very much and wish you all the happiness in the world. Me and Michaela will always be there for you if you ever need anything.
Finally, I would like to propose a toast to the happy couple, and I know that everyone here will want to join me in raising your glasses in a toast to a very long, happy, and healthy future together.
