I'm only going to make this a short speech because of my throat. If I go on too long Sue said she would cut it
Sue and I were married for 7 years before we started a family so we had plenty of time to plan exactly how we would bring up our children and then along came the day that David was going to be born so off to the hospital we went with a stop on the way to buy some second hand golf clubs and then after many hours of hard labor, that really tired me out, David appeared. Well it was not very long before David showed us how we should actually bring our children up and that we had been all wrong. As you know the hardest thing in the world is to raise children especially in the morning.
Then when children grow up through those stages of knowing more than their parents you hope they will listen to your advice and when they don't well you tried. Anyway David if you HAD come to your Mum and me for advice on what qualities to look for in a wife, we would have described the person you picked in Tamara a person that is CHARMING, FRIENDLY, LOVING, MODEST, CARING and of course GOOD LOOKING.
Tamara to your Father and Mother welcome to our extended family and Sharon you have done such a fantastic job on all the flowers, decorations and arrangements, we will be calling on you for our other three.
Some advise to the bride and groom
NEVER GO TO BED ON AN ARGUMENT STAY UP ALL NIGHT AND FIGHT.
A story about David when he was young we took him the circus, we were seated high up in the bleaches as soon as the elephants came out and the smell reached us David had an asthma attack and ended up in the hospital. So Tamara if you ever want to get rid of David please don't send him back home just buy an elephant.
Marriage is an institution in which a man loses his Bachelor's degree and the woman gets her Masters.
When I asked Tamara what she wants from this marriage she said LOVE, HAPPINESS and COMPANIONSHIP, when I asked David he said to keep his BIG SCREEN TV.
REMEMBER MARRIAGE IS NOT ONLY ABOUT FINDING THE PERFECT PARTNER IT IS ALSO ABOUT BEING ONE.
David and Tamara make this day the FIRST most happiest day of your life may every one after be better.
David a couple of quote you should remember the first from Oscar Wilde
“WOMEN ARE MEANT TO BE LOVED NOT UNDERSTOOD”
And the second from Charlton Heston THE KEY TO A LONG AND HAPPY MARRIAGE IS TO REMEMBER THESE THREE WORDS “I WAS WRONG”
Tamara also remember that A GOOD WIFE HELPS HER HUSBAND WITH THE WASHING THE DISHES
Until today we had three sons and one daughter, now we have two lovely daughters and three sons.
Tamara it is with great warmth and love that Sue and I welcome you into our family, may you both love each other as much as we love each other.
Marriage is the meeting
Of two minds
Of two hearts and
Of two souls
May you be blessed with happiness that grows.
With love that deepens and
With peace that endures
We wish you fun and excitement for today
Hopes and dreams for tomorrow
And love and happiness forever
Ladies and Gentlemen please stand, raise your glasses and drink a toast with me to the health and happiness of our
Bride and Groom
To Tamara and David
