Father of the Bride Speech Examples

This speech was delivered by my Son Simon when he gave away his sister Rebecca on 20 July 2002. Unfortunately my husband passed away 3 years ago and after this speech there wasn't a dry eye in the house.

I was inspired by the many speeches in the 'Father of the Bride' section as I prepared for my turn, and I would like to offer the speech I gave for your consideration for this part of your gallery. With best wishes, Howard Fincher.

Attached is the speech I gave at our daughter's wedding in July 2002. I very much appreciated the examples you put up on the site, and in return you are welcome to post mine. I have anonymized the names in it, and hope that does not detract too much.

It is by design a heart felt emotional speech because that was the way that I felt about my daughter marriage. Enormously happy but at the same time sad. This Toast was given at a wedding on March 16, 2002 near Sacramento, California that was scheduled for our garden but moved indoors after we awoke to a heavy snowstorm and power outage. There is a reference to pictures. My wife and the husband's mother put together two large posterboards of family photo's of the bride and groom with various friends and family and activities as they were growing up.
