Father of the Bride Speech Examples

I want to thank you guys for your great website. The posted speeches gave me tons of ideas for my speech to my daughter on her wedding day. By sharing my speech, I hope that I can help other Dads as they struggle with the words for their own speech (as I did early on!). Thanks again, -Ralph

It was a pleasure writing and delivering this speech at my daughters wedding

Regarding the section i emailed my speech to my daughter & shortenen i had 20 copies in a folder i set out on the table just to break the ice got a good laugh!!!

Thank you to all those who have shared their speeches on this site, they gave me the ideas and inspiration to write mine.I learnt my speech and also printed each paragraph on a seperate piece of card, i was glad of these as the emotion of the occasion and my nerves got the better of me and my mind went blank on a couple of times. I put some comments in brackets and decided as i spoke to use them or not dependant on my confidence and the response of others.Have a great day it really is a very special moment!

I was the mother of the bride and wanted a light and humerous speech. My daughter & fiance were married in Frascati just outside Rome and I decided to say the toast in Italian which was translated with help from my Italian neighbours! It was very well recieved.

I felt it only right to upload my speech as I took some much inspiration from this website and the speeches that had been uploaded. The speech went down very well and got laughs in the right places, but a word of warning for any FOB's to be I totaly underestimated how emotional it was standing up and talking about my daughter after the second paragraph I had to stop and compose myself as I had looked at my daughter as she was already wiping a tear.
