Good afternoon, family and friends.

Some of you I know, some of you I don't know. I will introduce myself anyway- I'm Terry, the father of the Bride.

I would like, in fact I've been ordered, to say nice things about my daughter. That's not difficult. Debbie has grown from a lovely child to a beautiful woman and I have had to give her away. Now any one who knows me will know that I never give any thing away – I only hoard them. Debbie is kind, generous, (especially to her dad), and is determined to get the things she wants. She's got her man and only needs to get her mini cooper!

Debbie says what she thinks and has always done so. It has sometimes caused a few raised eyebrows. Like the time she was on the bus with her mum and passed by the Police Station. ‘Mum, mum, dad was in there last night’ she said – LOUDLY – the passengers still don't know I was only there on business. On another occasion – again on the bus – this little voice piped up ‘Mum, Mum isn't that lady hairy? Her mum sank down into her seat.

It's taken a while to get Debbie to the alter; well someone had to ask her first – DIDN'T THEY? We are pleased Chris did. We welcome Chris into the family. He is hard working, and a grafter. Chris will try anything, painting, gardening, fencing you name it – he will give it a go, and I give him advice if he needs it. Diane and Paul you have a fine son in Chris, and that goes for your other two sons and your daughter, I met them all recently. I know that Chris will take good care of Debbie and I hope that they will have many happy years together. I already have a number one son – Nick and Chris will be my second son.

Now's the time when I will give some words of wisdom, from one OLD man to one YOUNG one;

Marriage is like a road – yes that's right a road.
It can be nice and smooth
Sometimes the surface is slippery
There are sometimes obstacles in the way
When you're going round in circles, you need to know when to stop
Now and again you take the wrong turn
You often go round the bend
Conditions can be bumpy and you can't see through the mist
But THINK before you cross the line
Be aware of all the signs
AND MOST IMPORTANT OF ALL -GIVE WAY

So LADIES AND GENTLEMEN please raise your glass to wish Debbie and Chris all the happiness for their future together?

DEBBIE AND CHRIS

(By the way Chris – heres your Porsche)
